How can a team that had Hawkins , Jackson and Big Harold not score points. If those 3 played today . They would be as good as any 3 on a team in the league.
Cliff Branch is now a senior candidate in the 2022 HOF and hopefully Harold Jackson will eventually be recognized as a HOF inductee. Most receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs in the 1970's and still not in the PFHOF is a travesty and a crime in my book. Hopefully next year, Harold Jackson will be recognized for his production and his career through. When he retired in 1983, he was only second in receiving yards behind the late, great Don Maynard. I guess the only reason why he's not in the HOF is because he never gotten a chance to play in a SB, plus being in many different teams (started with the LA Rams in 1968, but traded to PHI in 1969 for his best season and later in 1972, in which in 1696 and 1972, he led the league in receiving yards, only to be traded to the Ramsin 1973, where he would lead the league in receiving TD, and finally in his twilight would be teamed with Stanley Morgan and form a productive receiving tandem in 1979) but production wise, he was the best receiver in the 1970's. Lynn Swann, Drew Pearson, Paul Warfield, and former teammate Harold Carmichael are all in the HOF, and Harold Jackson should be in the HOF with them as well as an honorary member of the 1970's All-Time Team.
To jdsoultrn, I couldnt agree more. All three were deep threats. I dont know what more a player can do to get in the hall. Branch had 3 rings. No Branch, no Oakland SB wins.
Could have had Harold Jackson and Carmichael together for a decade more of the best receiving duo in the league instead of compounding the stupidity of trading away Jurgensen and drafting John Reaves by trading Jackson for Roman Gabriel.
Love the white helmets and all white uniforms, ditch the black jerseys and dark green helmets. And for gawds sake loose that stylized wing, hated it when it debuted in the 90s
It’s ironic that the Eagles produced the league reception and interception leader and yet finished the season with 2 wins. John Reaves showed flashes of potential in his rookie season, but he turned out to be a flash in the pan. Jackson and Bradley are among the best at their positions that are not in the Hall of Fame.
Khayat was too stupid to understand how dangerous Carmichael could be on the outside. Instead, he was forced to rot at tight end. Mike McCormack fixed that quickly, trading Harold Jackson to LA in the Gabriel deal and drafting Charle Young from USC to play tight end. Carmichael moved to the outside in '73 and took off from there.
couple key members of the teams that would be so good under Vermeil start to come together, but this was a baaaaaad football team still several years away from being good. Giants hung a 60 burger on them FFS. NFL Films did an amazing job being optimistic
The good news about that 62-10 rout was it wasn't televised. Striking IBEW workers cut the cables at Yankee Stadium to prevent the telecast to Philadelphia, Delaware and most of New Jersey.
I like these uniforms. I think the Eagles 🦅 should go back to these uniforms this season

They did not have a good quarterback.
@@TheMrzero35 John Reaves in college had never called his own plays. Thrown to the wolves, literally without any guidance from HC.
Great uniforms
Amazing to see how rough these guys played. Back when football was real football.
There's no way in getting those old uni's
I believe they failed to mention Ed Khayat was head coach .....
The players HATED Khayat. He was a martinet. Also, why bother mentioning a coach who was fired the day after the season ended?
I never knew Bunting could run like that!
I’m amazed the Eagles never retired Harold Carmichael’s #17. Why not???
Harold Jackson, Harold Carmichael and Cliff Branch should all be in the HOF!!
Harold Carmichael is now in the Hall of Fame.
They should be as a matter of fact he was carmicheal wasn't he just elected but now has to wait till the hof gm

@@wanderer34 completely agree with you! Harold Jackson was yesteryear’s Tyreke Hill.
Harold Carmichael and Cliff Branch are in the Hall of Fame.
I remember that 62-10 loss to the Giants I was 12 years old
At least you didn't have to watch it live. The CBS broadcast was canceled when striking IBEW workers cut the transmission lines at Yankee Stadium.
13:42 Bobby Moore's last touchdown. When he took the field again--ironically in Philadelphia to open 1973--he was Ahmad Rashad.
Always loved the spatted cleats look of that era, mostly on wide outs. Great look.
“The superb General ship of Pete Lisk“ you gotta be kidding me

16:23 Need replay to look at this one.
as a cowboys fan this team finished bad 2-11-1
A team without a QB will always lose
Despite the good intentions of the highlight video, you cannot polish a turd

As a cowboys fan that’s their worst season ever

Philadelphia had a ATROCIOUS FRONT OFFICE they were like if they got 2 starters in one of their drafts totally pathetic
Bonnie Blue Flag.

its not ironic football is a team sports and their defense and offense SUCKED so its not IRONIC but you are MORONIC
16:25 Ironic the Eagles returned to Franklin Field for an exhibition game because The Vet was being used by the Phillies
Curious how the play at 16:16 was ruled a touchdown 😂
Haha I know. Need replay on that.
Overall I don't see any sense in covering a NFL team in this case the 1972 Philadelphia Eagles since they finished the season with a 2-11-1 record.
Seldom used Harold Carmichael. Maybe if they used him more they would have sucked that year

The eagles were bad that season and recap of the 1968 eagles both teams were their worst season

Luckily I didn't have to follow the white hat Eagles lol... Before my time
I'm certain the fan at 19:28 died a very slow and painful death from lung cancer. But don't feel sorry for him. He did it to himself.
