Thank you so much. I had no idea that I had to take the left panel (With the buttons) and didn't want to break it. I saw your guide and you made it very easy. Although the locks on mine were very stuck in there, it took me like 5 minutes to take that off and one of them broke but that's not a problem. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much Canh. I knew there had to be a screw in each corner, and I knew the panel was hiding 2 of them. Didn't want to start pulling or prying until I was sure that panel snapped off. Excellent 'how-to' video.
Thanks a lot for your wonderful idea to show us in your video, how to open its housing! My wife let a small plastic part into the paper feeder and she was very surprised when I found it and gave her back.
Thank you for this video. You are a star! Saved me buying another printer! I managed to take the printer apart and found a shield bug stuck right underneath the inkjet cartridge carriage. Works perfectly now! :)
After watching the video I was able to remove the ink carriage to find a candy wrapper underneath it. Great help and save me from buying a new printer. Thank you!!
I had pen stuck in back part of printer with gray clips, go that out but it didnt work but cleaning gray rollers did the job, was almost ready to buy new one :-) you saved me some money, thanks...
Thank you so very much for posting this video. That resolved my issue. I did have something jammed that I needed to disassemble the printer to reach it.
Thank you, mr Tran! Good job! I managed to remove the left panel without breaking any clips. I still have to thoroughly clean the inside of the printer and the printhead. That might solve my problem. I'll let you know, just in case anyone needs further help with this.
thks you so much. I tried every thing to get it to work but nth did. Up until I saw your video and you showed me how to take it apart. I had a thumb tack underneath every thing and it was stuck really good. It works now,Thank you
Thank you for posting, my problem is paper comes out after printing with black smudge near the bottom of the sheet, I think now you showed how to take it apart I will go ahead try to see what causing it. Thank you again for th video
My power on off switch does not work i.e. Will not turn on Dismantled thanks to your excellent instructions. Discovered a plastic piece dislodged. How do I replace it i.e. Where does it go. Love to solve the problem. Thanks Arturo
Hey mayne thanks for your video.. My problem however is abit different the last 3 control panel buttons on mine wont work it powers on and prints perfectly from my computer.. any idea of what the problem could be? Thanks!
I'm not sure which control buttons you refer to. Big one on top when you look at it is power on/off, next is cancel button..and so on. So I assume you meant the last 3 ones next to you when looking at it. There are two separate little PCBs, one used to setup, to chose color copy etc...; other used to turn on/ off , cancel.. You need to check the flex cable (running from the main board) connected to the smaller PCB - make sure you got good connection there . Also check other connections ,from flex cable running from this small PCB to a longer PCB that is used to power on/off the printer. Hope this help!
I'm not quite sure which part you talked of; Most likely you won't be able to buy it on the market , only authorized repair service stores that have access to parts. Printers now a day made to discard once it stops functioning . The only way I can think is that you need to get an identical part from a death unit. Good luck.
I have a Deskjet 3510. It is similar to your Deskjet 3050 and your instruction video was very helpful. Thank you very much for making it. God bless. Sincerely, James
When re-assembling the parts make sure you re-connect the cable that power the LED control panel correctly. If not there's nothing lit up that lead you to think that the printer doesn't power on.
Canh Tran I have opened it up and checked the cords several times, just to make sure they where like in the video and didn't come free, but no luck. I even tried to plug into the computer to see if the computer could find it, in case the LED panel wasn't working, but the computer didn't find it at all. There is also no sounds from the printer. Could I have shorted the motherboard somehow?
Solus Umbra After watching the video again I found that I had my one cord turned around, thank you for the close up images. Printer is working good now!
Mine has started leaking ink out the bottom. The printer is now 13 years old. Obviously the absorbent pads cannot hold any more ink from a decade of head cleaning operations so ink is being pumped out of the bottom and needs to be replaced. But from this video I didn' t see such a maintainance assembly under the print heads. Or is it not worth the bother and just get a new printer.
1 step forward, but 2 steps backwards. Your disassembly instructions were great, Canh. I discovered a big shiny # 8 sheet metal screw in the paper feed path in the suspected vicinity. However, once removed, and after I reconnected the three flex circuits to their appropriate receptacles on the circuit cards, then the case was zipped up and unit powered, I ran into a snag....there was a cryptic error code desplay with three flashing warnings plus the flashing power button: "ERROR CODE 0XC4AEB841A" ! Any idea how to get rid of that code? Or what caused it? I disasembled the printer once again to recheck the connections of flex circuits and they seemed secure. Not sure what to do.
try this: if the printer is on (if not turn it on) then remove both cartridges and turn it off. Turn it on again then install both cartridges to see if the code is clear. Good luck!
I think I'd rather take it to the repair shop, don't think I'd venture that far with it, would forget what goes where knowing me.Anyone know a really good printer that I can replace my HP 3050 with in case the repair guy doesn't win either, Thank you in advance,

good practice...I was not able to remove the panel for the LCD...very nice...thank you
This was very useful, there aren't very many videos explaining how to disassemble my printer. Thank you.
After watching the video I was able to remove the ink carriage to find a candy wrapper underneath it. Great help and save me from buying a new printer. Thank you!!
Thanks so much for this. I needed to replace the buttons and was afraid that I would break the panel to access that area. Very helpful.
Thanks 🙏🏼 Your video really helped us fix our printer.
Awesome video Cahn. I was able to access all the rollers of my HP 2050 and fixed the paper jam.
I had pen stuck in back part of printer with gray clips, go that out but it didnt work but cleaning gray rollers did the job, was almost ready to buy new one :-)

Would somebody knows where to download J610 (aka HP DJ 3050) service manual ?
After I tried this my printer would no long turn on at all. Do you have any thought on how to fix it so it will start again?
When re-assembling the parts make sure you re-connect the cable that power the LED control panel correctly. If not there's nothing lit up that lead you to think that the printer doesn't power on.

Thanks man, but I couldn't find a button cell battery I thought was causing my printer to skip lines, I guess it's the cartridge
Glad it helped!
