    It's just a simple observation of the massive differences between breaststroke techniques. And quite honestly, Kitajima should've medaled. He is the best technical breaststroker in the world, and the one who allowed the dolphin kick for the pullout after he naturally did it in 2004 (because he's so gracefully awesome).
    Gyurta has him to thank really.

      it looked like that during the olympics, but in the olympic trials he looked amazing; his 100m breast was 58.90 (wouldve been good for a medal at london) and his 200m 2:08.00 (at the time the fastest anyone has gone since full body suits were banned)
      I dont know how he is doing right now (or if he even still swims) but he is definitely getting old...

    It does. It matters a lot. If a short guy and a tall guy has same technique and speed and are side by side which is unlikely. Which ones going to touch the wall first? The taller one of course.

    • @RiverWorksCo
      @RiverWorksCo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If a short and a tall swim side by side that means the short guy is better, following your stupid logic. And who's going to touch the wall first? Obviously the better swimmer.

    • @ericji7226
      @ericji7226 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheGoat-dp5xy I can't really speak for Gyurta, but from what I know about Japanese, there isn't really supposed to be any emphasis on any syllable of a word, but there is always an emphasis on words in Western language, so the commentators are emphasizing the 2nd syllable of Kitajima when it should be a little more flat

    Who else does swimming club or lessons and watches as many Olympic Butterfly races, so they don’t breathe the same time as the stroke?

  • @louiswu4668
    @louiswu4668 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah that conversion isn't accurate at all. It doesn't properly take into consideration the fact that there are double the number of turns and pullouts. Time conversions are only slightly more complicated than simply finding the rate the swimmer held, then extending it a bit to adjust for the distance.
