    Kaye, I appreciate you for doing this video. Sometimes we just need reassurance by seeing someone else doing what we've tried because we feel like we're the only ones experiencing something. Perfect sense, gurl!

    Thanks for this Kaye! I also do a relaxer in the back every 2-3 weeks. I am also constantly cutting my back because I like it really short. Keep posting! And your eyebrows rock!!!!!

    I’m finding that my hair needs a partial relaxer every 2 weeks. I want my sides and back to grow out some, but I’m fearing over processing my hair.

    After relaxing rinse the relaxer out using just water then apply your conditioner and deep condition for 15-20 minutes. Then, go through with neutralizing shampoo and conditioner; makes your hair soft and shiny!

    • @dadaTunes
      @dadaTunes 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You only have to leave the conditioner on for 3-5 minutes since the hair shaft is already lifted due to the relaxer. You're right it makes your hair very soft and shiny because it puts moisture directly into the lifted hair strand.

      Thanks bc I always neutralized then condition so I guess I've been doing it wrong but thanks for the advice

      @@feliciapattman noo don't worry you haven't been doing it wrong. That's the correct way to do it. Neutalizing shampoo stops the relaxing process and brings the hair back to its normal pH balence x

    Do you have any concerns about applying the relaxer so often near the scalp. I see that you based, but I have that concern for myself and I recently got a pixie cut. My stylist gave me a partial today and I'm like I have to do this every 2-3 weeks? Yet, I like my hair really short on the sides so I guess that's not really the problem. So do you have any tips on really protecting the scalp, besides basing, prior to partial relaxing. thx

    • @KayeWrightPrettyPixies
      @KayeWrightPrettyPixies  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not that I know of. Basing the scalp is the best way I know to protect it. You still want the relaxer to be able to do it's work.

      I apply partial relaxer about once every 2 to 3 weeks. I leave the relaxer on my hair about 5 minutes.

    PLEASE HELP! I recently got a short cut and I love it! For some reason though the back reverts within days. I must reapply every eight days which is crazy.... thanks for the assist.

    • @KayeWrightPrettyPixies
      @KayeWrightPrettyPixies  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're relaxing every 8 days? That's probably damaging your hair. Try the technique where you comb the hair up in the opposite direction from how you are going to wrap it.

    Good video. I'm enjoying the bloopers in your newer videos and how you're showing your silly side. ORS and Dr. Miracles have a New Growth relaxer. It comes in a smaller tub and costs $1-2 less depending where you buy. Again it's a smaller tub I use it on my pixie. 😀

    NEED THIS 😀.Do I have to come up after applying perm? And, I bought a Motions perm and on the instructions it states that I have to use a Motions conditioner after rinsing out perm then shampoo? Do I have to use the Motions conditioner or go straight to the shampoo? Just wondering because some box perms, after applying perm and rinsing, I can shampoo then condition. Thank you!

    • @KayeWrightPrettyPixies
      @KayeWrightPrettyPixies  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would definitely suggest that you use the neutralizing shampoo that comes in the box. After neutralizing you can use the shampoo and conditioner of your choice.

    • @trevasmith4542
      @trevasmith4542 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kaye Wright Thank you for responding. I understand about the neutralizing shampoo that comes with the box perms but what about the perms that are mixed already and comes in a jar? Motions says I have to rinse,condition,and then use neutralizing shampoo. Got it on sale for $5 ☺.Should I throw it away and just stick with box perms that has everything? Sorry to be a bother but I am new to perming & I do want to learn the technique you are showing in this tutorial. I have been going to the salon for a partial and full and paying $60(charge the same for both) while sitting there for HOURS😩. Your way would definitely save me time and money. I truly appreciate it. Again, sorry to be a bother.

    • @aleialaw

      +Treva Smitheither way will work. Some people like to condition before neutralizing. it's just preference. Just make sure you rinse out all the relaxer really well.

    • @KayeWrightPrettyPixies
      @KayeWrightPrettyPixies  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Treva Smith I'm not familiar with the pre mixed relaxers. But I'm sure the instructions they give are what work best. So following their instructions is probably best.

      I'm not sure how it works on relaxed hair.

    • @carinapaul1191
      @carinapaul1191 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was told years ago when I first got a relaxer in a salon not to use head and shoulders because it would ruin my hair with the relaxer in it. Once the hair is relaxed it will stay relaxed but it will loose moisture and become very dry and course I'm not sure what else to use if you have dandruff maybe tea tree oil and a moisturizer.

      Shanquella Clay keracare has a dandruff shampoo that is pretty good. You will need to follow it up with a really good moisturizing conditioner b/c most dandruff shampoos are drying. Keracare also has a great moisturizing conditioner.

      Because I keep the back cut so low it's ok. If the hair does become overprocessed I cut it down once a month so any over processed ends would end up being cut off every month any way. The rest of my hair is only retouched every 4-6 weeks.
