Music wise, Dave & the boys were among the very best that the seventies and eighties gave us. Working as a chip boy when this came out and sung along (somewhat badly) every time it was played on the radio. I often have a laugh with my young son-in-law as he is a dead ringer for the always sunglasses cool ( soon turning 79) Mr. Allured 🙂 Showaddywaddy were a massive part of my growing up and every time I hear a track from them, oh, how I wish that I had a time machine!

I always thought this was the best of their cover versions and should have been a number 1. Its just so well performed and unlike most cover versions of this great song they didn't lose any of its very real charm. As a kid it caused me to check out Dion generally and I'll always be grateful for that too.
