The S340 needs this feature. That way the two products can be complimentary to each other. One is a lower end version of the other. But with the E30's 24/7 option; it firmly puts these two products into different categories.
Always clear and informative - thank you I have the S340, and am in the process of hardwiring it - this new potential feature will be wonderful to have.
I had several Arlo cameras for many years, then a switched to Reolink and I still have three of their wireless cameras, but know I buy only Eufy cameras, i currently have eight of them. I'm very satisfied with the hardware and the software. The software is not perfect but it gets updates and improvements overtime.
I hope they do bring this update to the S340 camera as I just purchased a pair for $109 each from Costco in December. Definitely looking forward to the update video and keeping my fingers crossed. This is actually really exciting news.
I returned mine to Costco not worth it waiting for eufy, and no current pre recording, long duration for video clips and no sd card on s340…. WyZe camera works better so switched back to that for price
This is interesting you put this video out today because I sent eufy a message last night asking if I could use a transformer to run it on 110 V and they advise not to do that and this camera did not support continuous recording it is made to record motion only.
Even on my initial review, the continuous recording was already there just not working yet, so they definitely have added it to this camera. If they will eventually remove it, a lot of people will complain.
Do you think they're trickle charging the battery when wired and then using the battery to power continuous recording similar to C31 doorbell or are they bypassing the battery completely and allowing continuous recording over AC?
I have linked the eufy cable in the description of the video. As to the power brick any will do as long as it has 5 volts 2 amp output. A lot are 1 amp only.
I have a Motorola and an iPhone 11 power brick charging adapter. Would those be compatible? I don't understand why Eufy doesn't include a power adapter with the cable. Lol
I have 4 different Eufy cams that used to work fine and I can see recording through Eufy app on iOS when my iPhone is connected to WiFi or 5G. Recently I started getting issues where I can’t connect to the camera when my iPhone is on 5G for some reason. Please let me know what I shall do. I use Homebase 3.
Bought a couple units during Christmas break, but could not link to my home Wifi so I retuned them. I have door bell from other brand and didn't have any issue linking to my Wifi.
I am in europe and mine have the blue light continu on if charge and i want it off like other eufy wired models, can i do that? And if i have it wired it show me the battery that load continu, is that normal? And recording history is not yet by mine, only if something it’s happening. Thx for video
2 things you can do. There is a status light option in the general tab in the settings that you can turn off. Also you can go to power manager and in power source, choose solar panel. Yours haven't updated yet if it is still recording motion events only even when set to record continuously.
I turned off but that is only for recording and that for charging stay always on. I have to choose solar panel also if stay wired ? I have wel latest firmware , i checked again now. Maybe europe is later with all updates like for iphones ? thank you for advice
I have different security camera, I found sensitivity of Eufy is lower, detection range is shorter, and it didn't follow the objective well. Also, one major issue on all outdoor camera is refresh rate, I would suggest you to test intruder capture in late night, with the current 15fps refresh rate, you cannot see anything I believe we all need security camera is for night time between 2 to 6am, those are the most crime time happen, thanks
@@LifeHackster I agree, but fps is important like car camera, even we add light in outside, it is hard to capture, anyway, just wanna share what's happening in reality. Most thefts are "working" at night
@ Thinking that increasing FPS will create a clearer image is a myth. It is shutter speed that is responsible for having or not having motion blur. I will eventually make a video on this. Higher FPS will only create smoother looking footage not clearer.
Amazing this is double the price of the indoor cam that’s 4K. No spotlight and only 2k. I plan to use it under the eaves. Nice to have a battery backup but the killer is the indoor cam e30!
Hi Huckster, I am looking to build a system of wired and wireless cameras, which manufacturer would you recommend and should I go for PTZ cameras or the dual wide angle variants? Thanks
If you have time. Can you make a setup you would depend on using only WiFi solar powered security cameras for people that don’t have option to plug in or poe? Main floodlight to side house camera and rear. Eufy seems a good contender since you don’t have to do any crazy line running Is the s340 worth the money over the e30? I like the dual lens but I want the voice warning feature ˙◠˙ Thanks for the quality video
I love my Eufy cameras, BUT I'm no longer looking at their solar panel cameras. I have both S220 and the S230, which both stopped charging the battery within a year. You have to manually charge it, which then defeats the reason for solar. Yes, they are both in full sun more than half the day.
Eufy hardware is decent but their software and perhaps firmware is garbage. Works OK for a month or so an then it goes crazy with multiple problems. Have to reformat and restart the camera several times to get it to work again. I have an E340. A unit with all these glitches is useless////
Eufy is complete garbage. I have a bunch of different recent products from them and they all have issues. Motion detection rarely works, auto lock usually doesn't work on the smart doorbell lock, the 24/7 recording has random gaps of not recording during crucial moments. It's all going in the trash once I switch to reolink.
same here, had issues with video doorbell not working and they wouldn't refund under warranty, only replace with the same defective product because I didn't purchase direct from them but through Amazon. I got the reolink doorbell and it works well after adjusting some settings. The concept of it switching to battery when power goes out is a nice feature if only the product was more reliable.
I too have had issues with eufy, just bought a bunch of their devices for their features like cross tracking and their ability to connect to their new line up of outdoor lights But I went in knowing these are not 100% for security but pricey toys. Kind of like how Korean cars like Hyundai and Kia offer a bunch of luxury features but their quality is hit or miss in the long run . The Homebase 3 connectivity has been hit or miss. Something out in the backyard has connection but the dam doorbell loses signal 5feet away.😢

Also 10 fps at night on color video recording sucks vs 15-20fps on wyze
It takes seconds to view wyze footage and minutes on eufy app
Super helpful. Thank you.
this is my next camera
The E30 and the S3 pro will be the best!
I really hope it comes to the s340
Me too.
I wonder what the operating temperatures are and how it would be in colder environments?

nice update
Thanks for watching!
Did anyone notice that the Floodlight Camera E340 now records while viewing it live….i’m glad Eufy added that feature 👍🏾
Regular 340 also
How quick can it recover and start recording after a power failure? When in wired
Do you think they're trickle charging the battery when wired and then using the battery to power continuous recording similar to C31 doorbell or are they bypassing the battery completely and allowing continuous recording over AC?
Question: Where do I buy the charging adapter from? Got a link for a compatible power brick charging adapter. Thank you.

@ I know the iPhones power brick are only 1 amp.
Did you test if the eufy solocam 4g lte s330 also has that hidden 24/7 recording feature if you keep it pluged in with usbc to power outlet?
which is good eufy or tapo?

Agree, the 15 FPS is trash.
It is not the frame rate. You just need better lighting. -> th-cam.com/video/4JEatkWI4Ms/w-d-xo.html

Crazy e340 didn’t get these features first. Panorama view should’ve been on there for starts. All their cameras should be 24/7 of plugged in.
Thank you sir.
Welcome!

I will go with Reolink and I like dual lens 180 degree ones from Reolink. Watch this -> th-cam.com/video/vI2nZwAz-Qo/w-d-xo.html
