I spent a good few years working with the guys from XS Promotions in South Africa that run the Supadrift series and when there were drifting events near me I hopped in a car as often as I could for some sideways action. It’s an experience unlike anything other just watching the driver - the constant footwork, steering, gears, clutch, gas and watching where you going! Would love to see some local action here in the UK too.
Jamie you need an LS Silvia in your life. I don't know any cars fans that don't have an LS swapped Silvia on their bucket list. For those that have the ability to do it it's almost like a right of passage.

Here in Finland 🇫🇮 has mr Lauri Heinonen as his drifting car, Nissan S13 , the nascar-engine Dodge R5P7. The sound is very nice🏁 950hp/845 Nm at the wheels 🍺
I work in a slightly smoky environment (welding) and one thing that really bothers me is the grot that isn't picked up by the extraction system. I can't imagine that driving one of those is terribly healthy. I hope the drivers know to look after themselves.
Saw both of them playing at the 24h Nürburgring drift show event. Nice cars but to be honest LS swap sounds not good in a jap car. Should’ve used 2Jz or RB26 engines.
Sound is subjective of course but I see what you're saying. Though a NA LS engine is significantly lighter and a much lower CoG than a 2JZ or RB and much more responsive, while still making good peak power and having a very good power / torque band. He did say his main concern was how responsive it is.
@@lorddoobsworth144 yeah but many professionals still use a 2Jz and a RB26. 😉 It’s not about the sound of a LS as a motor itself but the combination of the wonderful Japanese body with the LS in it.
