      Think of drawing a line all around going wherever you want the marble to go, then put another line right next to it making a track. There's a start anyways. Work from there. Draw that line a wild as you desire. Life is all about honest experimentation. Dishonest experimentation mostly gets people either addicted or in deep trouble.

      @@BeeFunKnee Quite a way from drawing on a page, to 3D and kinetic motion - that's some levels above! It even has implicit humour, as well as excellent craftsmanship.

    this is the kind of thing that i'm so glad youtube exists to see more of, but truly nothing beats being able to witness a kinetic sculpture in person. i've loved these kinds of sculptures for as long as i can remember and have been fortunate to have seen many in person. i sincerely wish these kinds of sculptures would be publicly and proudly displayed again.

    If this had been built in the 1780s, I can assure you that the Town Marble Fascination Machine would pull better crowds than the local dead guy on a stick and people 200-odd years later would still go to see it...thank you for showing us this wonderful and elegant automaton.

    Marbles are happiest by far, when they are rolling around in contraptions. It's what they were born for, so it's little wonder they thrive on a wireframe stage.

      Marbles little glass hearts were meant for a child's thumbs and a happy flicking away in order to capture other marbles held in a circle that also wanted to play. All else is adult marbles icing on life's sweet cake we all get to eat. Age can never hope to win while the heart is young anyways!

      I’m absorbed by the design & construction as well. Each movement section had to go from idea of movement wanted to testing how to do that, then perfecting the repeatability. Then putting sections together in the lattices with the inevitable no: wait, THIS has to come before that or you can’t fit the other thing….
      I suspect this took many, many hours.

    Intriguing design and flawless finishing. Can you imagine if one could manage to pass an electrical current into the two tracks and each marble contained an LED with exterior contacts that would pick up the charge and cause the LEDs to flash as the marbles rolled along? It would be truly random in nature, and figuring out the logistics of insulating the separate tracks from one another would be a nightmare but still... Very nice work. Thanks for sharing it with us!

    • @WeR1sculptures
      @WeR1sculptures  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      As you already stated it would be difficult to insulate the tracks, but even more difficult it would be to make the connectors on the ball as the ball is round and doesn't stay in the same vertical position as the train does. Thankfuly there are clear balls with battery and flashing LEDs inside them already available, so we can still have flashing balls rolling down the track :) Thank you.
