people dont really understand when they say "oh you could've gotten a corvette or used gtr" no shit. this is more unique than that and adding a new mod is like a new car everytime. its awesome to see someone say "lol look at that slow ass 4 cylinder sti" but under the hood that bitch be pushing 600 whp (not yet for you casey lol). this car is one of the best modding platforms when done right even though it costs a lot. i fuckin love subies.
oh and insurance is going to cost more for a gtr or corvette than an sti. plus maintenance and oil change prices can be more expensive if not done yourself.
Everybody makes that argument no matter what car it is..." With that amount of money you dumped into it, you could have bought..." It comes down to everybody's initial budget for a vehicle and after that we mod it as a expression of ourselves and how we like something to look. And from the vision of how we like the car to look we share that we other enthusiasts which makes up this community. Keep doing what ya doin don't worry about what anyone says. Car looks great!!! And for reference had 06 STI did a bunch of mods, sold it to my buddy. Got a GTR, did everything on that, missed the STI so I bought my wife one and building that. And I always get "you could have bought a lambo with the amount of money you spent"...I'm like yeah yeah...(in my mind i'm thinking i'll smoke that lambo...lol)
Huge props for being honest about the costs of ownership. Not a lot of people would put themselves out there to admit what their cars have cost them but it's refreshing to see real people online in the car culture nowadays. Nice car!
Awesome. Dude I applaud you. Anyone who says you could have bought such and such. Well yours is the only STI that looks like yours does and performs like yours does. No one else can appreciate the car in the way you do. Kudos once again.
23k in upgrades, yep definitely going to ride out my warranty. If it blows, it blows XD. Just gonna add some visual stuff for now and leave the engine stock. Also get another car to daily maybe.
@@MrFahnatic i always take fast and reliable lol fast negates the money(because smiles per gallons) and reliability keeps you from spending more money so MORE smiles per gallons :D
I blew my 2015 up at 8000 miles. I was thinking about buying a GT350 before I blew it up, but decided to rebuild mine as well. Spent about 16k on the engine and have 470whp. I still wonder if it was worth it, but I'm all in now. I can still haul the fam around when they feel like dealing with the noise, but I've been lucky that my wife understands my craziness of modding the car. I love the way yours looks. Nice vid man.
WRX is a beast of a car stock especially the 2019- no need to mod and they do last for many years if you do the maintenance. I agree do minimal mod until your warrior is out. It’s a fun car no matter how you look at it and it’s your money. I do like wat he did 👍🏼👍🏼👏👏
Then by your perspective the very aspect of visual modding is douchey , and I'd go as far as to say any type of modding. We're speaking about grown men dressing barbie dolls and fighting each other over whose one is better. Term "expression" when justifying one's looks be it private property or dressing your own body is simply an excuse as a way to show off, look hot, cool, or edgy. Basically all the components that fit in with being obnoxious. The very nature of human existence is about winning other people's attention, be it a good or a bad thing.
Cool guy i can relate to that. I’m dumping money into a rust bucket GC right now. I could’ve gotten something else in better condition. Saving a car and learning how to is more rewarding to me. And it’s my money. Awesome subie man!
If you are going to build the motor like that you might as well rotate and put on a bigger turbo, throw on elh and do a front mount and really crank out some hp instead of having a build block on a stage 2 tune
Yeah, unless you have been down this road you won't understand. Very few people come in thinking they are going to drop that kind of change. One thing here, one thing there. Oops i broke that. Oh i might as well do that while I'm in there. Now i better do the fuel system so it won't happen again etc. Been there man.
Dagan Williams lmao this was literally me a few weeks ago. Went to a performance shop to get oil and filter for my frs that I drift. Ended up looking at a new sparco 350mm 80mm deep wheel. Said might as well get it since I'm quite tall and it would help with my seating position since I've had issues with sitting far back for my long legs and having to reach the wheel. Ended up getting the wheel, hub, and got convinced to get the qucik release too lol. Went from 50 bucks for my oil change to 700$ ish cad for my wheel setup. Shit adds up so fast. Don't regret it though lol
Well said at the end, you buy and upgraded the car YOU LIKE !!!! YOU DON'T DO IT FOR THE PEOPLE.... And its a beauty !!! Love the build great job and taste 😎 🤘
looks good. i'm on my 3rd engine with my 2015.... $112,535.00 including the car. 550whp/473wtq corn fed 470whp, 425wtq on 93 octane. i don't regret it, sure... i could be driving a GTR too, but i have a very, very fast Sti instead. Keep modding!!
Its all about personality my man, some of us are made to drive stis i couldve have a hellcat, cts v, zl1, etc. Chose a 2016 sti base lol sold my focus rs even
I've just discovered your channel and I have to say this... You got the greatest editing that I have ever seen in TH-cam. You truly are a car guy with no affiliation with other popular car youtuber who makes alot of dramas recently. Stay who you are and never change that. Your contents are on points! I definitely put my ring bell notification to see when you upload a new video. I love you man ! One already fan from Canada ! 😃😁✌👈👀
Thanks man. I'm still learning this editing thing. I try to keep out of the drama and just do me. We just make videos to help out the community enjoy the car scene. We don't make any money doing this. Most of all, THANK YOU for watching!
Just filmed my buddies sti. 2013. Allot more money under the hood than this. I'll start off by saying that it is one beast of a car. It's quick, beautiful just perfect. The downside is the amount of money put Into it would have netted allot more power in a different platform. Gt500, corvette, evo etc. It truly is a enthusiasts car with in my opinion one of the best sounding exhausts in any 4 cylinder car. Beautiful ride man! Just don't show the Mrs this video lol
I spent my money on palladium and glad I did considering the current spot price. It's ok to spend a ton of money on cars hell I understand I've spent over 100k. The thing is use your money to invest and spend your profits on mods that way your habit is free.
Exterior mods probably safe. That's why I haven't messed with my stock other than a catback. Well, I liked, access port stage 1 map etuned, but... Can change it back assuming it doesn't just plain dead on me to where reflash is impossible.
not bad i just turned 70k on my 15 sti. I almost followed your advice. i ran it stock for about 20K then did a cob tune gained 30hp by adding noting and then added a axle back exhaust. love your mods. what order of mods would you recommend? AOS, Intake, Downpipe?
If I added up what I have spent on my cars I could have payed cash for a house! You never do it to get back what you put into it! Last time I was planning on selling my truck I was going to lose over 100k! So instead I did a refreshing put another 13k into it and it like a new vehicle to me! Enjoy it and don't think about how much you have spent. My wife and kids and myself love all my cars and that's worth more than what I have spent. Also when another vehicle pulls next to you and you know and they know yours is better that's priceless!
Wow. You paid $45K initially. Got my 2016 limited new for $37K (Greenville Subi, NC). I do agree you should wait until your warranty for any performance mods. Only mods I've done, cat back, 1/4 " lower springs (all done by certified Subaru dealer); no engine mods. Everything still covered by full warranty.
do you use a gimbal of some kind? or are you just that steady handed with the cinematic shots? trying to up my cinematic film making , any tips appreciated. love the channel and the content, keep it up!
jonizzzle short blocks run anywhere from $3-4k then components are another 3-4k (rods, pistons...etc) then another 2-3k extra cost that just comes up. So around 11k?
Most I've ever paid to rebuild an engine was $2000 (it had a spud rod bearing), that was with a complete balancing, decking, bore, bigger pistons, ARP rod and head bolts, and gasket kit. I did assemble it myself which would have been an extra $300.
I'm in a tough position. I bought a wrx from dealership with 10k miles on it with a 36k mile warranty, but the car has a downpipe cobb intake and nvidia q300 exhaust. Bought car like that and I haven't voided the warranty. I'm worried I'll blow the engine because I don't have accessport
Hey guys.....fellow Subie driver here in Honolulu. My question is....at 13000 miles why did KC blew up his engine? The new engine he said was $7000 is that from the dealer and did they installed it for him? Still waiting on this guy to get aftermarket wheels for his hyperblue STi.

Suspension and brake mods are the way to go when the engine is still under warranty (although I'd still go Stage 2 on a Protune).
One take away for those is DO NOT RUN the COBB CF untuned. Leans that AFR right on out at higher RPM, it killed a 257 in mere miles that is crazy
@0:42 its very true, I always find a window just so I can just see my car parked. especially when I leave her I double take lol

Hi Casey is that t-shirt your wearing going to be available in your shop soon
no matter what sport car you get you'll always have that mind mods must be added!!!
Is that a light bar in the front lower grill? looks dope af
Did this guy do a downpipe exhaust and intake without a tune and blew his shit up???
How did the engine blow after an intake was installed? Or did I misunderstand that?
I feel like I hear more about STI's blowing their engines with very little mods then WRX's
What should I do because I don't wanna void the warranty with AP
Either get a tune or get the stock intake/DP back in it! Definitely not giving you more power without a tune...
I think I would go for about 450 whp to keep it cheaper and put in mods to make it more reliable.
Happened to stumble across your channel.... looks like I'm staying

super down to earth person of you …..ill sub now..keep it up mate.
Brutal itemization man, sucks that happened to ya. Thanks for the breakdown tho:) Cheers!
Thats my cummins cost me stock. Dam thats alot of money and its already has a rebuilt motor. But like you said its your 💰
Did you say your engine blew due to the aftermarket intake? I got a 2017 WRX still under the basic warranty and really want to do a Cobb intake.
Viet Ho don't ever touch the intake or downpipe without a tune!! (Unless you're looking to get a new engine;) )
How did the intake blow the motor if you had the reflash? I'm sorry maybe you said it but I didn't watch all the videos yet. Thanks everyone
Where did you get the Alcantara for the center console I wanna do that for my hyper blue!!
Where did he get that alcantara wrap around the shift knob housing? Waaannntt :(
my guy can you tell me exactly what you put in your car i get the changes you did but how did you start off with it. Later ima get a subaru and i want it to look just like yours but black or green.
Awsome video 👍
Intake and exhaust blew your engine ? Another reason why I am getting out of the Subaru game. Ej255 is a Mellon. Try going 135MPH for more than 10 minutes and see how the head gasket handles it. Wanna change that head gasket DIY? better have equipments to drop the engine or shell out $2800 minimum.
Is worth it if you enjoy it and yes is your $$$ do as you please. I like the look and it’s original. What’s Casey’s profession?
How did the intake blow up your car
Hi OP, can i ask, what is the weight of the cf hood? thx wow car btw
how does adding an intake blow your engine?
*Finishes watching video*
Oh he also applied the wrong tune after the intake. That'll do it
I have 18x9.5 rims with 265/35 I want to get tire stickers. I want them to fit my tires like they do yours. But I don't want to get too small or too large. What size are your tires and size letters
45+ grand for sti plus 70K on upgrades... the hell.. lol that's 115k...... Im 2016 limited sti owner myself.. 10-15gs yeah.. but damn.. 70+Grand lol.. I dig you bro!
70 grand was the price of car + mods. Not 70 grand just on the mods lol
I love your subie , keep it up 👍

What company did the STI graphics at the bottom of your door?
Is it matte black or gloss black?
Send Casey a DM at @hyper_blue_sti
This STI is the definition of rice imo
Very instructive.
Hey man just curious to how the intake blew the motor? Was the access port not on the car yet or was tube that poor?
Thanks In advance
Tuned improperly
How much were the Vapes?
whats the Cf of drag?? dyno to the wheels HP/TQ=??
What da heck does he do for a living bro ? Plus he got kids , nigga I got mad respect ✊
Which paint or marker on tires please!.
I wanna do all that stuff minus anything that voids warranty
worth every penny
too bad you didn't put a turbo H-6 in it
Could bought a 15 Geo metros with that kind of money.
Where can I get the shirt that Casey is wearing?
We've been searching online and can't seem to find it. We bought it at a car event.
"My wife's gonna kill me". Haha he must've said that 10 times in the video.
he spent more money on the cup of starbucks than his whole car
Are you going to comment on how and why the engine blew? I have a 2018 incoming and plan on a Cobb but have a local subie shop advise me on what to do or not to do
Aftermarket intakes require a tune and EJ's and Subaru's in general are known to blow without the right tune.
Thanks for the reply man. That sucks. I assumed COBB was safe. Did you make a mistake or are you saying that you did like you were supposed to and still had the engine die?
that's it? i'm scared to add mine up now, fml I don't even want to add my second sti to the total.
Dude where’d you get that sweet ass shirt at!?
What editing software do you use?
Final Cut Pro X
Lol. Given you haven't even touched the brakes it has to be assumed all the mods were just for looks and giggles.
I love the the colour
