    Hi Manny, do you know if there's any way to increase the sound effects in the game or in the headset settings? I'm really having a hard time to hear the clicks during this stage...

    • @Mannyocrity
      @Mannyocrity  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, there is no way to separate out the sounds. If someone is shooting right below you, it will drown out the cog clicks. I actually keep my in game sound pretty low and you can always ask for comms to be quick when doing cog phase. It does get easier to hear it over time with practice. The other thing is that the cogs click every second, so you can get in a rhythm and count that way as well. The first cog is often the hardest to hear because the squeaking of the wheel when it first turns. It is almost immediate. I wish I had a better answer for you, but I promise it does get easier to hear over time.

      @@Mannyocrity thanks for the quick reply mate. Yeah, it was pretty hard yesterday and was my first time doing it so I guess I'll keep practicing and as you said, practice makes it perfect! Cheers

    How many clicks on the cogs is a full interact

    • @Mannyocrity
      @Mannyocrity  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean for it to move? One click moves is one spot. It is possible to have to move it 11 times. If it was 12 it would be locked in already. Not sure this answers your question because I'm not entirely sure what you mean by a full interact.

      @@Mannyocrity nah, if you hold the button down the dial uptop goes a full rotation but the cog down below doesn't, just wondering how many clicks it is

    • @Mannyocrity
      @Mannyocrity  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ardarricvannes5347 Just so we are on the same page, when you say dial, do you mean the wheel that you interact with or are you speaking about something else? If is the wheel it is not a matter of just turning it, but rather holding the wheel until the cog turns and you hear the click. The wheel and the cog are not linked in a way that allows you turn turn the wheel once and it turns the cog once.

    • @ardarricvannes5347
      @ardarricvannes5347 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mannyocrity yeah the wheel up top, now holding it won't turn the cog a full rotation, just wondering how many clicks it does do

      On xbox you have to release the wheel once it's done a full turn

    Thanks so much mate this video really helps a lot! As we know there are 6 cogs in total, does it mean that we have to take a look and record 6 corresponding cogs number, or 1 set (2 cogs) applies to all cogs? Many thanks!

    • @Mannyocrity
      @Mannyocrity  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One set is two cogs, so three sets total.

    I really don't like the "pre-emptive" subtraction of 1 from the cog value. The reason is that everyone communicates the actual value of the cog, and some people count different when applying based on their audio queues. If someone says its 57, I know its 57. I stop on the 4th "click" then the 6th "click" as you describe, and thats all good... but your value is still 57, and thats how everyone expects it to be communicated in all runs

    • @Mannyocrity
      @Mannyocrity  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really comes down to how your group does it. I would always check the numbers myself and not rely on someone telling me what they are. If I was communicating the number to someone else, I'd tell them what the actually values the cogs are set to, but when i write them down for myself, I always preemptively subtract the 1.

    • @kermit847
      @kermit847 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mannyocrity I have to agree with Curt - the subtract 1 is very odd advice. If you carefully listen to the audio track on your own video, you're skipping over labelling the first click and labelling the 2nd click as 1st. The first click is heard immediately after you start turning the valve. So if you need to move the cog 6 positions, the game plays 6 clicks. There's no reason to subtract 1 unless you're trying to play it overly safe. And at that point you should cover how you can "tap it into position" using short valve turns until you hear the big CLUNK.

    • @Mannyocrity
      @Mannyocrity  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find it easy to miss the first click because you hear the turning of the wheel. Sometimes I hear it and sometimes I don't, but I always hear the second click and at that point I can start my cadence for the number I need. It is just the trick I use to make sure I turn it the correct number.
