I like this watch. We all have to agree that this is far better than what Seiko offers with their old seiko 5 line. The old Seiko 5 line comes with mineral glass, disgusting bracelet, hollow endlinks, 50m WR, and 7s26 movement while these Paganis have saphire crystals, better bracelet, solid endlinks, 100m WR with a screw down crown and NH35/36. Watch like this if offered by Seiko would cost about 300-350 USD
Back in 2020 Pagini Design had a lot of potential to be a leading Chinese Special watchmaker of good quality homage pieces. Since that time they have dropped the ball with QC issues and less than interesting models being offered. At the same time customers have been supporting the growing number of other watchmakers for cheap but good homages. Maybe they will never redeem themselves.
@@CanadianBeachcomber Their bezels sucked on all of them -- then only on some models nd they've got it down pretty well. Bracelets still need massive improvements but there is one or two models were they have it right. San Martin and SteelDive/AdiesDive don't have that issues but the watches are well over twice the price. And you're not getting twice the watch -- so Pagani Design is still a great value. I replace the bracelets with Silicone Straps. :)
Thanks Dan. I’ve started to steer away from the cheaper end of the AliExpress market now. I’ve had a Lorier Neptune for a couple of years, and before Christmas I treated myself to a Hamilton. You can tell the difference in the quality with these watches, the Lorier being another notch up at around £400-500, I’d be interested to compare this to a San Martin or something. But the Hamilton is next level, excellent quality, and the H-40 movement runs within COSC specs. Any chance you may be reviewing the new Steinhart Adventure soon? The Rolex Explorer is my grail, but this looks good at a tenth of the price. Cheers
It's the inconsistent quality control. I've opted for Steeldive or Addies for that reason. BUT Pagani pack a huge whallop when you do the bang for buck analysis. Maybe we have just become blasé ....5 years ago anything with those specs would have cost $250+
Just ordered one this afternoon and was told they are now shipping with a full brushed bracelet. This came from the aliexpress Pagani design store. They even sent me a picture of the watch on a brushed bracelet.
An entertaining and fair review 👍 . I think Pagani just try and give too much for the money (sale price!). They should improve the lume, and get the watch head perfect and sell them with a leather strap. They could then offer a decent bracelet as a cost option. When I bought a Heimdallr turtle, the strap was about £10 extra, so I had a choice.
Great review Dan, very entertaining. I recently bought the Phylida BB36 homage with a darker blue dial. Much better than PD. We’ll made, great bracelet (although it would look nice on one of your straps 😉) and a no date seiko NH movement. Lume is very good. Case finishing really good.
I’m not convinced by this colour dial. It may be one of these until I see it in the flesh the jury will be out. However you are spot on with your comment about if you like you wear it….so true 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I ordered two in the sale and thought I'd give them a go. Can't complain about the price as they were on sale with coupons etc, plus got many watches in the rotation. Looking forward to getting the Tiffany and brushing out the shiny bracelet. I really need the sweaty day extension as my wrists really do swell on hotter days.

The price was about 1/3rd the price of the equivalent San Martin and it's only meant to be a summer day watch so no big deal about the lume and according to some other TH-camrs thats been fixed!
Lume is Pagani's bugbear. They just cannot get it right. That's what keeps me away from it. Though to be fair the size is a fair bit too small for my bigger wrist. Excellent review Dan.
Colours not for me but looks good on the mesh. At least there was no bezel for them to fuck up lol They really need to sort the lume out. Steeldive sell similarly priced watches with fantastic lume. Loving the reviews with a nice splash of humour mate!

And yeah I still have to convince my mother when she sees my Tactical Frog version two in “aquamarine “that it is not a girls watch lol she scoffed at the idea that I could buy a watch this colour because she is old fashion she made clothes this colour!! Speaking of Rotary watches, I gave my dad a Rotary Lexington model of 1999 quartz with a seven jewelled movement if I recall and it is still running strong
Pagani is a good brand but something weird is holding them back, they have good taste but all comes down to the quality of their pieces, a little mistake can mess all the other good things. The ghost position is a little thing for example, using the nh36 would fix that, there Is nothing too bad about having a ghost position but some people out there do. The lume is another deal breaker, but in the case of this piece I think is ok, I may wear this on summer. Thanks for the review 👍
For me I don't mind the lack of AR, but the color and the size puts me off. And the price on sale is nice as it gives you some money to replace that horrible bracelet. And by the way that pueblo strap looks really nice.
Their bracelets don't really bother me too much, cos you can always swap em out. The one thing that REALLY bothers me is the damn awful lume !! If Steeldive, Addiesdive etc etc can use superb lume, then why can't Pagani ?? I just won't buy one until the lume issue is sorted. Nice enough. I’m still in the love/hate feeling on “Tiffany” blue. Not sure I’d buy one. But still think they look nice. So I’m 50/50. QC always worries me on these Chinese watches. Love the fact it has an NH movement and no date. Do we really need the date on watches now? But I’m biased. Eyes are failing. Need reading glasses to see a date window! 🤣 Another great review Dan. Even at full price it's still half the price of a San Martin, albeit not as good. Have to disagree about the movement though, I think the Miyota 9015 is excellent, and never hear the rota when on the wrist. Like you, I love the size. Would I buy one, no
@@watchmewithwatches 9000 series are excellent. To be fair perhaps I have been lucky but I have Rotary, Bulova and Tempest all with 8 series Miyota movements. All rotors are exceptionally quiet all you hear and again very quietly is the watch ratchet winding. I have a Pagani and Seiko with NH35 and those rotors are noticeable, not noisy by any standard but you hear the rotor. Both the Seiko and Miyotas have no rotor wobble. Now I did have a Hamilton and its rotor was dam right noisy, very disappointing. Hamilton sold on.
Ugh...I liked the hands so I gave the watch a chance inspite of that God awful Tiffany blue. The combination of the round indices, snowflake handset, and the light blue really make the watch too feminine. The strap added made it look straight up flamboyant 🦩.
I can forgive a lot of the watches shortcomings, but there is one that makes this a TOTAL dealbreaker for me. And, you didn’t even mention it! What happened to the PT Time dual branding? How are people supposed to know the exquisite nature of a watch that doesn’t have PT Time in a barely legible font printed on the dial? Unforgivable!
I bought this version because I can't stand the San Martin logo or text they use, I prefer the old block text they used and it's stopped me buying their watches since they changed over.
Even box fresh this cheap and rattly bracelet is absolutely nasty. Let alone after a few minutes of wear when it's covered in scratches. It's an absolute deal killer 😆
Not for me, I'm afraid. It's just a bit too blingy in that colour. I also agree with you Dan, it's too much at £95. No AR coating and no date complication, so it's not even a decent timepiece. I've got a few PD and flipped a few too, but I won't be buying one of these. Nice review though Dan. 👍
who the heck wants partly mirror polished bracelets ? - these are completely scratched and ugly after a few days at wrist, even if just worn in office. A personally no go beside I would never buy such a ugly Tiffany coloured watch.

Chris they QC has actually improved -- not gotten worse over time --and the price has creeped up a tad. They own two lesser Aliexpress brands.

Is the nh38 a lot more expensive than the nh35 ? Why don’t companies use the nh38 to avoid the ghost position
