Sixpence None the Richer (also known as Sixpence) is an American rock/pop band that formed in New Braunfels, Texas, eventually settling in Nashville, Tennessee. They are best known for their songs "Kiss Me" and "Breathe Your Name" and their covers of "Don't Dream It's Over" and "There She Goes". The name of the band is inspired by a passage from the book Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis.

Sixpence None the Richer is the third album by American band Sixpence None the Richer, released in 1997.
The album was listed at #19 in the 2001 book, CCM Presents: The 100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music.
"Kiss Me" is a song recorded by Sixpence None the Richer and released on the 1997 album Sixpence None the Richer. It reached number two on the U.S. Hot 100 and number four on both the UK Singles Chart and the Canadian Singles Chart and number one on the Australian singles chart, making it the group's highest-charting single across the world.
A year after the release of the album Sixpence None the Richer, the teen movie She's All That and the popular teen soap Dawson's Creek played "Kiss Me" (with tie-in videos), which went on to be a hit single off the album and the band's most recognizable song.
The song was released as a single in 1999, propelling Sixpence into the US pop spotlight. The Grammy-nominated song became a top airplay hit in over 10 countries including Canada, the UK, Japan (later, the band re-recorded "Kiss Me" in Japanese), Israel, Italy, Netherlands and Australia.
The original music video pays tribute to French filmmaker François Truffaut and his film Jules et Jim, made in black and white and recreating many of the classic scenes from the film. Two alternate versions of the video were also released later, which featured the band sitting on a park bench, performing and watching scenes from She's All That or Dawson's Creek on a portable television or projected on an outdoor screen. Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook appeared in the She's All That version of the video.
The Dawson's Creek version of the video became VH1's number-one video for the entire month of May, 1999.

she's playing in the movie spirit, even more than usually - it's her way of getting through life; plus i have the feeling she switched places with the actress few times. it's indeed addictive, so i watched it 10 times to find its moving parts. she's not a dumb doll in the real life, she just plays one to feel loved; her motto is "God gave me horses".

This song honestly makes me think of my boyfriend. One day he barrowed keys from my mom to surprise me at my house and this song was playing on my ipod right before I walked through the door. Literally best moment of my life. This is a great song for that special person in your life when you think about it. It's sweet and nice unlike music now-a-days
