I fully agree with your review and the points you make. I really loved the movie , but I had to explain the exact same things that you outline to multiple people. For some reason, most people don't like it. They either expected another plot or just fail to understand that Arthur is just the man, whose tragedy creates the Jocker persona, but the real Jocker villain is not him. It's someone else who can bring him to the extreme that we know from the Batman franchise, likely the guy who stabbed Arthur.
Yeah, as bad as Joker 2 was, I actually loved the ending. Because even with the first movie, I just couldn't see how this impulsive incel loser is supposed to become a criminal mastermind who can not only go up against Batman, but also compete/team up with Lex Luthor. Also, he just doesn't have that Joker voice like Mark Hamill and Heath Ledger, he sounds more like a sad men on TV who talk about their feelings. Also, I just never saw the Joker as an "Arthur". I always saw the Joker as a "Jack", lol.
