Of course she was groomed. Military kid in a foreign country, lonely and starved for attention, she was an easy target.
The fact that her parents let her go live with him in the US so young says that the parents were not diligent.

Her life is the proof that financial security and stable parents do not guarantee a trouble-free life. I did not know she had gone through all this. At least, her Brazilian son and ex-husband kept a low-profile. As a Brazilian, I have just found out about Lisa Marie's brother 2 weeks ago! My country's mainstream press did not even mentioned that when talking about her passing. I have learned in this platform.

@@gothbby9113 It would take twenty pages...The main one,, for me is that everyone knew that Elvis did not want to marry a woman who wanted to go into show business. Priscilla knew this too. She hid her show business ambitions from Elvis, married him, stayed married to him JUST LONG ENOUGH to get the best financial divorce settlement, (five years in California at that time), left him, got her money and got herself a movie agent. Her boyfiend, with whom she had been sharing a secret apartment for months before she left Elvis, said that Priscilla "wanted to be known for herself, not for someone with whom she was associated."
She was married to him at 21, got pregnant the same week and was pregnant for the first nine months of the marriage. She had her first affair four months after the baby was born. Her excuse at that time was that Elvis would not have sex with her after the baby was born, a lie that she told for 30 YEARS and only about five years ago went on the "Loose Women" show and gave an interview to the Guardian magazine saying it was not true, they were having sex all along. I guess she forgot that she still needed the excuse for the affair she had when Lisa was four months old.
When she left Elvis, she took him back to divorce court a second time and got two million dollars and a lot of his property. Two million would be about twenty million in today's money. Because of that, Elvis had to sell the rights to all his old hits and live off just what he got from touring. From that he had to support himself, his own family and the families of all the people who worked for him plus keep sending huge payments to Priscilla. It came out just recently that she put a lien on Graceland while Elvis was still alive. Then when he died, she sued the estate saying she wanted more money that Elvis owed her.
I am not like a lot of fans. I think Elvis LOVED Priscilla. He practically had a nervous breakdown when she left and was found crying over her by a couple of the maids a long time after she left. Lisa said that he would say, "honey, try to get mommy to come home so we can all be a family again". When she broke up with Mike Stone he went to her store, ready to forgive everything and brought flowers and candy and tried to get her to come home, but she wouldn't.
When she left him, and gutted him financially, I think the heartbreak and the hard life he had to live just ran him down and he eventually died. When she left he was beautiful and healthy, and he just started to deteriorate and died.. Then when he died, after she had taken so much of his money she had the nerve to go around saying she could not understand why Graceland was broke. All this, not to mention how she has degrade his memory since he died. I could go on for several more pages....

One thing I always noticed about Priscilla is that she didn't smile a whole lot. She always looked solemn on so many occasions over the years, before and after Elvis left us.

I find it so odd and unacceptable that her parents just signed her over to him. I mean, I don’t know if they were starstruck or just that naive that nothing was going on between them. My dad always said “ If all you are doing is talking then you can do that over the phone!” People will say “It was a different time!” But kids with grown men never has a time in my opinion.

Elvis didn't have sex with Priscilla until the wedding night in may 1967. Lisa Marie was born exactly 9 months later. First week of February. I think he kissed and cuddled her. He knew the law.
They did not sign her over to him. She did not come to live with him until she was almost 18, then not really him, his father and stepmother. Later she moved in with 'Elvis.
A lot of parents do this to their daughters even now. They may not marry them off underage, but they will make sure the girl is around a certain guy and allow him to be alone with her.

I agree. My grandparents grew up as his neighbors. It was the custom thing to do during then. Its not in today's world. I hate it when people try to put today's lense on stuff years ago. That's what I said. People would flip at this but I met someone who's grandfather married a twelve year old girl when he was 20! Totally wrong but people didn't look at it like that then. This was like in the 1920s poor working African American family. Loretta Lynn was 15 when she married 15 year old Doo Little Lynn. Today there are child marriage laws and legal prohibitions against sex with minors.

I do believe it, based on what other women and Memphis Mafia said about him. That he was so scared of unwanted pregnancy, he did not go all the way. Elvis meant that there were always going to be rumors and women claiming this and that. He did not mean she was going to have to put up with him having affairs. Ann Margret had been quoted as saying that she and Elvis would marry. Elvis was telling Priscilla that this was just something she was going to have to put up with, stories, that is.
You probably know that at this point he broke up with Ann Margret and married Priscilla just a few days later, and eight days after Elvis married Priscilla, Ann married Roger Smith.
Don't believe everything that you read coming from Elvis' friends. If you had read Elvis What Happened, then the books after that you would see how much they lied and changed their stories. Especially don't believe quotes that they supposedly made to other authors.
That story about him taking pictures of 14 year olds started when Priscilla said that after she came to live with him at 18, he would have her dress up in different outfits. A stewardess, a nurse, etc. and take pictures of her. She also said that he had ONE girl come over and had them wrestle on the bed.
This was later built upon by various authors, saying that he had her and the girls have sex in front of him, then that he made movies of them and masturbated to the movies and all kinds of filthy stories. And then, over time they began to say it was many girls. Of course, Priscilla could have sued for Elvis, but shortly after he died, she said she would never sue for him. That is why they can print anything they want to about him.
But Priscilla has said that those dirty, elaborate stories were untrue.The "he had many 14 year olds come over and dress up in crazy costumes" is a new one on me. But it is just the latest variation on what was a relatively innocent story told by Priscilla.
I cannot understand why so many people are naive enough to believe all these stories about 14 year old girls. Does it not seem logical that SOME of them would have told their parents of all this was going on, and that Mr. Elvis would have been in PRISON??? There were plenty of 14 and 16 year olds around Elvis, mostly in public. They were FANS. Not lovers or girls to be sexually explointed.

I have personal experience. I worked for a UK department store that ranged Priscilla's bedlinen range. For the UK launch, she made a personal appearance at one of our stores and as a member of the bedlinen buying team, I also attended. Prior to the meet and greet, she met the team, shook each person's hand and thanked us for our hard work but I was so surprised at how nervous and shy was. Of course I new her legacy so I was so amazed at how humble she was. Lovely lady.
What’s kind of creepy Pricilla resembles Elvis in a way. He basically married himself. Their eyes are similar. I know some people will disagree but she could almost be his sister. I think that had something to do with how he styled her.

Weird coincidence/// I work at a restaurant in East Tennessee, today I had lady that looked identical to Priscilla. When I was dropping off their check, I couldn’t help but comment about how much the lady looked like her, and how I thought she was one of the most gorgeous women of all time. When they were walking out the guy pulled me aside to tell me that his lady was Pricilla’s cousin. I asked if they were lying to me like five times and she confirmed it herself that she was Pricilla’s cousin.
I feel like I served her today- maybe I’m delusional but I think that it was her under reps. She was lovely and beautiful. It’s a weird coincidence because I watched this video yesterday and its so cute I had a Pricilla lookalike come through

The further you go back in history the more common this is. All the way back to biblical days when King David was sent a young virgin in his old age to lay with him . It still happens today w/arranged marriages in other countries. It was different day and different times.

Because Jerry Lee Lewis actually married his 13yr old cousin Myra. Elvis married Priscilla when she was 21yrs old. Also she didn't go to live with Elvis at graceland until she was 17rys old and shevwas looked after by Elvis stepmother Dee. When Priscilla first arrived at graceland Elvis was making movies so was hardly ever there.

A lot of people say that Priscilla uses Elvis mean for clout and what people forget is that the reason why Elvis is legacy is so strong nowadays is because of Priscilla. She was smart enough to make Graceland into a museum about Elvis. She was the one that had the business savvy to do all that to build his legacy. It wasn’t his father and he wasn’t the Memphis mafia, but it was Priscilla regardless of their divorce. She was definitely a very smart business woman and it’s sad to see that she will no longer have anything to do with the continuation of maintaining and continuing his legacy. I say this because of Lisa, Marie’s unfortunate death and her Will. Her will stipulated that because she was Elvis only child and only heir the remainder of Elvis and summaries, inheritance, shares and rights to Graceland and Elvis trust and legacy go to Lisa Marie remaining children. I just hope that people stop badmouthing her because honestly she didn’t choose that life. Her parents pretty much sold her to Elvis and Elvis groomed her but she made it out of that situation and she thrived. I remember when she was in dynasty and how she grew and she pushed and persevered to make a name out of herself more than just being Elvis’s ex-wife.
