I commanded the last mission to exit Cambodia on Aug. 13, 1973. A two ship of A-7's from Korat RTAB made the last strike. Once they reported their strike, they headed to Korat and we did too. Being slower, we exited last. Thus the 7th ACCS, flying ABCCC, conducted the last combat mission of the SEA conflict. However -- a short time later, we were back over Laos on the Trump track continuing that mission. I always wondered if the 7th ACCS historian made note of this footnote to history.

I commanded the last aircraft (t/n 791) to exit Cambodia when offensive operations terminated 13 Aug 73, midnight EDT (about mid-day local). Two A-7's from our base, Korat RTAB, made the last bombing and strafing run and exited the area. I confirmed that no other missions were active and then we also RTB'd. Thereafter, we flew missions over Laos where we monitored enemy activity along the "trail."

Bungalow, I believe it was sometime after the Grenada mission we started accepting women. They changed our role as a Combat Unit to a Combat Support Unit. And during the Panama Mission"JUST CAUSE" we started accepting women in the JSOC (JOINT SPECIAL OPERATIONS ) Jane Foeri Lujan was our first female in JSOC and Val McDonald Miller was our first female in the squadron. There was a lot of first for the 7th ACCS. I want to thank the Air Force for allowing me to be a part of it.

      A32870 (Airborne Maintenance Tech), 7ACCS (Alleycat) Dec 76 - Dec 83.
Bill and I were pretty tight. Went on lots of missions together and killed many a brain cells together.

I worked on the ABCCC at Keeler AFB as part of the 3380 AMS from Jan 81 - Jan 84 and don't remember this getting filmed while I was there. I'm guessing it was after I left.

Hi Carl! I’m doing well! I’ve worked in technology sectors since I separated, but looking at retiring at some point. How about you?

I helped in the making of this video, there was 2 videos made. One was made for the use of showing some of our capabilities to the fighter aircraft world. Some of those guys never heard of us and how much we could help them do there job. The second video was made by the Air Force as part of " Enlisted Aircrew Members". Jobs for enlisted in the flying career field. It may have been for TAC Enlisted Aircrew Members. After that the squadron made a real funny one just for the fun in briefings.

I recognized you but couldn't put a name on the face until I read your reply, Sparky. The film must have been made well after I left in Dec of 83 or after relocation to DM. I was assigned to Alleycat for most of the time I was there between Dec '76 and Dec '83. A year or so in the Training Section with Mark D and then into Stan-Eval for a year or so before I left in '83. Being an AMT was probably the best job a 32870 could ever have.

Flew first mission May 68 and last May 69. Went over as an E2 and came back as an E2. Operational Intel but had not gone to any tech school. OJT 20450. I was lost, didn't even know what I was going to do until I got to survival school in the PI. Loved every minute.
