Different formation and Stenson made a difference for sure, but the effort by them all was brilliant. Penny was excellent on the day I thought, as well as others. The Alfreton game was an odd one, as was Fylde, teams that didn't really want to play football, just use the dark arts to break up play, not good to watch and frustrating for the Harriers. Whilst the formation and Stenson did change things, the fact that Southport wanted to play football was a positive I think. Given the chance to play the Harriers play well and can beat all in the league, but when the frustrations of how the likes of Alfreton play take over, it's much harder for the lads, and a bitter pill to swallow. This was a great game, not just because of the score, but because Moyo is back on the pitch (let alone scoring), Stenson looks to be fitting right in, Freemantle got a right cheeky goal, a clean sheet, the team performance was excellent and there were a lot of smiles on the players faces. A hell of a lot to be pleased with, well done guys.
