System design round's experience is quite helpful... Was looking for something like this. As Data Engineer Wouldn't be like, we have concentrate on Data processing? Or are we asked to build APIs?

I recently gave first round for cloud data engineer at Google
There were mainly 3 parts for the technical interview in my case.
1. Coding question (Medium level) which i solved in less than 30 minutes.
2. Basics of bigdata spark hadoop. Real time pipeline design scenario.
3. Database design.
What do they ask in coding round? DSA ?
DSA?
Interviewer gave a log file and asked me to find the table which is queried most time and if we have 2 tables which are queried same no. Of time then we also have to handle that and he asked me to solve in any programming language . (Sql and pyspark were not allowed)

Don't do it just for money. It doesn't make sense to switch to a different domain after 8yr exp. Cracking big tech can be difficult.
If you like data engineering you can switch may be in your same organisation.

Hey Shashank, did they ask modelling as well ? I am not good enough since my org has separate modelling and reporting team so dint get much chance to work on modelling part. Because of this, I am hesitent to appear for big tech companies like FAANG though I have offers from Ericsson and UPL.
