The James Corden thing was unfortunate and completely unnecessary. I don’t take it too seriously but it just shows that hosts and networks still don’t take BTS seriously as artists. I am a 40+ woman with several advanced degrees and a very serious career who is die hard Army. I will be paying my hard earned money to see them in LA soon because I respect & support them, their music, and their positivity. Once the pandemic ends I will make a point to go to Korea just to learn more about the culture because I’ve been exposed to it through them. It’s too bad many ppl want to stereo type and remain ignorant about anyone other than the West & Western Artists when there is a whole world we should learn to embrace. It seems no matter how hard BTS works and what they overcome they still face so many obstacles. This has only made me love them more. 💜

Enjoy your reactions guys. As Jin said James is "the Joke Guy" however he exposed that he is not a good one, poor choice of words! As for fan diversity I can attest, I'm a 48 yr old Male person of color from South Africa, married for 22yrs with 2 teenagers, a daughter (19) who is a Stray Kids stan and a son (17) mostly hip pop. Typically as a family we listen to all genres from the 60's to present day. My daughter and I have been addicted to K-Drama's since I got Netflix in 2016 and we have robust discussions on them and K-pop all the time. Though I'm very new to BTS (2019), OT7's brotherhood and messages through their art captivated me especially on mental health matters, as I am a person afflicted with Bipolar who lives with the stigma attached to mental illness. Its comforting to know that BTS recognizes such prejudices and lays it bare.

I don't like Kpop that much, but I love the journey and the whole message of positive influence that the Bangtan boys convey, and they are very talented and impressive performers. Im so fed up with immature Armys that over reacts to everything. I just found out they tried to cancel Pdogg cuz he made a comment saying Jin must have practiced a lot to sing his part in my universe like come on stop it. If this keeps happening no one would want to work with BTS.

I saw nothing malicious about James Corden's comments. He didn't say all BTS fans are 15 he just referenced that age group. Had he said " 58 year olds" like myself then that would have been creepy. I'm not sure if the people who are upset are the fans who may not be well versed in English or maybe they are really that immature and sensitive. In several BTS songs that talk about misplaced anger and how you should save your anger for things that really matter. Obviously, some fans are not listening. BTS are men, not children and I'm sure if someone says something disrespectful they can handle it themselves. They don't need "protection" .
I'm a 68 year old Army, have a friend that is 75 and she's Army. So many older Army's love BTS. Thats all I'm saying. I don't think James meant any harm and things get taken out of proportion. At least I hope that's the case.

Honestly James Corden situation makes me laugh because it was so clear that he was using BTS and gave it away when he interviews BTS during the BE album comeback. BTS asked what his favorite song was on the album and he said " Dynamite" clearly stating that he did not listen to the album. Jimin even called him out for that. He called BTS "unusual visitors" and mocked Army calling us all 15yr old girls. I was mad, but BTS and ARMY don't need anyone but each other

And after this interview where he was like "I love BE" but said the he only listens to dynamite and Jimin was like "Ok, if you listen to all of it you'll know that we talk about our experiences in the pandemic" they didn't go back so i think they knew even before us that he was not good, at least not the Army he claimed he was!!

I was disappointed with his “jokes”, but I was upset with how he downplayed BTS’s achievements by saying BTS were “Unusual” visitors at the UN(Though this was the third time the guys have be invited to give a speech), didn’t even mention that they gave a speech and that the world leaders have “No choice but to take BTS seriously”(this rubbed me the wrong way because it sounded as if James was saying BTS wasn’t already being taken serious and that they were only there because they had an “ARMY of screaming 15yr girls” forcing the UN to let BTS perform.)
I’m disappointed, but I don’t cancel people or send death threats when people upset me. I just avoid or ignore them, I will not waste my energy on someone like that. And I will never threaten someone’s life.
I also think that everyone should made up their own mind as to whether they will still deal with James or not. Too many people just jump on the bandwagon before hearing all the facts and then applying their own values and judgment to the situation.

What offended me in that is when he said something like the world leaders are forced to take bts seriously when those leaders literally want bts there. He also called bts unusual visitors though the members are there for 3 years.

The James Corden sitch was more a disappointment than anything. Trevor Noah did a similar joke but he did exactly what Ron said he should do-he stopped at “They have the largest ARMY.” No insults could be found. He was respectful and tasteful. He even mentioned that they spoke, so he gave BTS an air of sincerity and intelligence that way. But ultimately James reinforced the stereotype that BTS is a fluffy boy band-he didn’t mention they actually spoke at the UN; he just said it was unusual they were there-and that their fans are boy-crazy teenage girls. one of the writers wrote that ignorant joke and he could’ve said no. But he took it on and threw us and BTS under the bus. ARMY raised 10s of thousands of dollars if not more for his charity when he hosted BTS and he said he really appreciated it, so we thought we had a relationship of mutual appreciation w/ ex-papa Mochi. So yeah, we feel a bit betrayed.
