Hindi lang nila alam yung kanta boring kaagad? Ganda ganda ng mga message na kinakanta ni SIR KOKOI eh di nyo lang maintidihan kasi sumasabay kayo sa agos ng sistema . Right, everyone has their own opinion... Pero hindi lng matawag na magaling ang isang singer porket may versatility. It's your passion towards what you love doing most. And sir kokoi has it... Love and passion towards his music. He doesn't perform to impress or show people that he's good. He sings onstage because he loves what he does and he has passion on what he does. A true artist indeed.

Mas nirerespeto ko ang artists na nag-stick sa genre nila kumpara sa papalit-palit ng genre para lang ma-please ang mga tao at manalo sa competition. Ibig sabihin lang nun may sarili silang identity. Ganun pag singer o banda, dapat may sariling tunog. Ang ayoko sa mga mainstream singers ngayon lalo na mga Pinoy ay yung pinapalit nila ang genre nila dahil yun ang uso. Dapat kasi pag gumawa ng musika, ine-enjoy mo lang yun. Hindi yung iniisip mo na, "Ay, di na uso ang punk ngayon kaya dapat magpaka-boyband na lang tayo." O kaya "Ay, House music ang gusto ng kabataan ngayon, hindi na uso ang ballad. Dapat ganun na din ang musika ko." Kaya nga mas may impact sakin si Kokoi kumpara sa ibang artists. Kasi sobrang original sya. Yun lang po.

Tingin ko kasi, dapat bonus lang ang papremyo sa contest and the focus is "you are showing the best of your talent."
Partly you are correct that artists should stick to their genre. Pero take note that this is a "voice" competition. You need to prove to everyone that you have a versatile voice. Boses ang kinikilatis dito hindi yung kung saan ka magaling.
Hindi naman kelangan magpalit ng genre para masabing magaling at deserving sa competition. At hindi naman kelangan magpalit ng genre para masabing versatile ka. May impact sa audience ang mga kinanta nya, mapa upbeat o slow reggae songs. Sa boses nyang yan pwede sya sa rock pero mas pinili nya ang reggae kasi yun ang passion nya. Ipagpapalit mo ba ang passion mo para lang sa isang SINGING competition? E kung ikakatalo nya ang pagpalit ng genre, para saan pa? Syempre mag stick sya sa kung saan sya magaling. It's not playing safe, it's having a smart decision/choice.
Sa competition pa lang na eto nakikita na kung anong klase syang artist. Sya yung ipaglalaban kung ano yung gusto nya, hindi yung sunud-sunuran lang sa gusto ng mga tao. Yan ang tunay na artist.

its not the songs that he sings that makes him good. Its the showmanship, uniqueness and how he draws the audience to his performance. Kahit anung kantahin mo kung wala kang showmanship, uniqueness and audience are not drawn to your performance, wala din..you will only be stuck in the same level when you started.

The first time I watched this performance, I'm like -.- ugh, okay, that's it. But after repeating several times, i started to appreciate the song and his performance. I eventually became addicted to it. My LSS I might say. Maybe some people cannot appreciate kokoi because they're not familiar with reggae/the song. I don't know the song he sang, that's why my first impression is -.- but because I repeated it several times, I get use to it and start liking it. Sometimes we don't appreciate things because we are not familiar with it or we're not use to it. Why not open your heart and your ear to the message he's trying to deliver and the beat he's making. You will see the difference.
Kokoi's intention to join this competition is to share his music. Sending a message about love, peace and unity thru his music. Just like Bob and other reggae artsist.
The prime intention why he joined to the competition is the P2,000,000 plus a house and lot prize, that is a fact!

yes lagi nga sya reggae pero lintik naman sa galing! may narinig ba kayong bone thug rapper kumanta ng birit love song na rock? hindi diba? kasi di trip, di kaya at hindi rin para sa kanya. every artist has a flavor. si kokoi pure reggae flavor. you cannot ask an artist to do something way out of his/her comfort zone kasi mawawala ang flavor nya though i understand that's how an artist grows. you just cannot ask (just suggest) that, it should happen naturally.
ang problema lang, competition to kaya usually hinahanapan ng versatility. dun ang weakness ni kokoi admittedly pero f*ck it! everything else is genuine and perfect para sa kanya!!
