So happy for Susan, how genuinely sweet she is. You cant help but smile while watching this, I see her band every time they come to town, and the last time I saw her play "I Pitty The Fool" She just Killed !! the solo so powerful and emotional just like her superb singing. We've always known about her amazing voice but I think her guitar playing just keeps getting better and better. Congrats Susan Well deserved !!
Susan is a miracle of a singer and it's right and proper that she gets such a high honour as as a guitarist too - a real blueswoman, so much feeling and taste in her playing. Her voice + a tele in her hands is such a powerful combination. Some of her playing here reminded me the way Robben Ford sounds when singing with his tele only. Two very different musicians, different skills and talents but the same deep understanding of the language. Thank you Susan for all the wonderful music and vibrations!
Big Thanks to Fender for doing Susan right! She always amazes me how she can totally own the house anytime ... yet in person is sorta shy with such a soft sweet voice. Just love her!
i am super psyched ro be able to say that i played that original tele she had...i was a local TV reporter and had interviewed Susan before when she was nominated for best new artist for the grammys.....then she played a gig at Harper's Ferry which i did a tv story on...i got to play that guitar and it was great....thank you Susan and Fender for making it a guitar that others can enjoy.....!!!

I grew up one town over from her and the greatest regret of my boss at the coffee shop was fumbling the bag with her in the 90s. Whenever "It Hurts So Bad" would come on the radio he'd get this wistful look and stare off into the distance. So glad to see that Susan gets the signature artist treatment, her music is a treasure.

What an amazing singer, player and performer!!
I was a bit surprised by how soft her speaking voice is given how she sounds when singing! Really great artist and I love the colour of the guitar.
She mentions Cambridge Music, that's where I got my first (knockoff) Les Paul and my first amp. I loved going in there! It was a small place but it had a lot of guitars. I was like a kid in a candy store whenever I was there. Jim Mouradian's was upstairs, it was sort of an apartment and they had a little repair room. He and his son Jon were really cool, and they knew their stuff! I miss that place, I was so bummed out when they closed.

Susan's playing style really showcases the tone and this will be a very successful model. That green is really growing on me. I've seen her and Derek live many times and they never disappoint.

first time I saw Susan was on Austin city limits with that Teal Telly. I always see her associated with that great guitar. I love all the great music she and Derek have given us. The world is a better place for all you do.

I saw Tedeschi Trucks at Ravinia some years back and I've seen ABB with Duane, I've seen Derek & The Dominos and many others. That was the only show I've been to where the featured act got a standing ovation in the middle of the first song. It went like that all night, too. Amazing and I'm not surprised she has a signature model, not one bit.

Very cool! I really enjoy how Susan’s eyes lit up. I get where she’s coming from. That huge sheer joy of music that creates super positive energy when it’s so new to the player and they find a guitar that really connects with them.Another way to say it; she had the look you get when “the bug” has bitten you BIG TIME.

Congrats to Susan! I saw Tedeschi Trucks Band in Vancouver recently and the thing that stands out the most is nothing. They're all so incredible that no single thing seems above the rest. So. Good.
The Tele neck pickup is very underrated. Perfect blues tone. But all anyone talks about is the bridge pickup.
And it's amazing for jazz and swing too… shhh…

Saw Susan play that Tele last year and she let it rip. Derek is amazing but never sleep on how good she is. Such a good band.
That color is so cool. I know Fender has had that color on and off but I’m happy it’s back. Every guitarist male or female should own a Tele. The secret is out, the Tele is not only for country music, if that’s your thing all good, but a Tele can play anything. Set up right it’s very fun to play.

held her original teal Tele on May 24,1998 when we booked her for the Blue Carb Festival in my home town. I was working as stage management helping bands get on and off the stage quickly. She was very nice, mic'd a small amp like a Blues Junior or Princeton. Cant remember the exact amp but I defiantly remember that teal color Tele very, very well. She is also a huge Jax Jags fan, so color fits LOLO
As a guy and a purveyor & collector of some high-end guitars, if i ever were to own/play a Fender Sig Series guitar bearing a woman's name it would be this one from SD. A fan for nearly 30 years, she's stood the test of time and has all of the cred that comes with it. (As for a Strat, I could see myself adding a Bonnie Raitt.)
