Amazing job as always. This is a video that greek sport journalists should watch,as the last season they were saying in all occasions that Ataman has no plays and his success is due to the individual talent of his players.
It’s a fact that he does not have complex plays like Saras or Xavi, but I think it’s due to his philosophy rather than a lack of skills. There’s no coach without plays; the question is how strictly a coach wants to control his players’ movements on the court.
This is no way, all through the year journalists were analysing that Ataman together eith Sloukas was changing the tactics strategy and tactics of rhe team And especially in the first game with real Madrid im season and later the games were analysed and the kmpact of ataman on changing pace and flow of tactics were analyzed. But also Bartzokas was analysed.
Bartzokas is equal caliber. Did you realize what he did last year? With a roster half the budget he went 10 points from final especially with 2 players in bad day and lost championship 3-2 in minute details with a team of 15million budget when PAO budget was 30million.
Thank you! Excellent work, like a member of a professional, high level team of analysts. Continue your good work and we expect similar videos for the rest of Euroleague teams.
Hey man thanks for the video and analysis, excellent work ! Ataman's freedom to players in combination with Sloukas (and Grand) elite decision-making was a match made in heaven
I really like videos as this one breaking down how a team do their plays...but to be fair it should be called Obradovic's pick n roll and not Spain pick n roll...this should be the fairest as Obradovic is the mastermind behind it and the first to play it with Panathinaikos in 2001 if I remember correct! Other than that, this is an excellent video breakdown of Panathinaikos last year plays! Keep up the good work!
It’s funny that Bostons head coach Joe muzzula had the same criticism as Ataman for not running the most plays. But if you pay attention they both operate off a set of philosophies that get them the shots they want
Excellent job as always, congrats. I got a question about the ram/pindown set. In your voiceover, you mention the pindown being set on the "weak side", but in fact in both examples the pindown shooter gets out from the side the PnR ballhandler goes, ergo the strong side. In both examples, the big plays drop defense, giving Sloukas space and time to decide whether to drive or kick to the shooter. 1. Rudy sees the pindown, goes over, Sloukas has to drive. 2. Blatt is stuck on the pindown, can't get out, Nunn takes the 3. My question is in fact about the options of the play: if neither of these work, the ballhandler and the shooter are stuck in traffic in a very short space (around the 45 degrees) because the spacing is virtually non existent (pindown screener - pindown shooter - ballhandler). Did you encounter any instances of the set not working? What do you do then? Shooter retreats to the corner and you re-set a PnR up top? Skip to the weak side (I doubt that, in both clips the other wing was deep in his own corner)? Thanks!
Hey there! Glad you like my videos ❤ When the action kicks off, the ball is on the right side of the court, and the off-ball screen happens on the left. You’re spot on about the spacing; if the play doesn’t work, the ball handler will probably reset it. Some coaches set it up so the ball handler drives toward the opposite side of the screen, just like Pascual does here. th-cam.com/video/2tRZyZMcFXA/w-d-xo.html
You create a 45min. Video about the systems that ataman uses in offense and lazaros papadopoulos ex greek basketballer says that ataman plays basket like 3on3 .

Ooh that is interesting, thanks. I guess the risk is a tougher pass, but it's nice to mix up where the screen happens in relation to the ball.
Thanks
Question: How do you see Nunns iq concerning the plays last year ? Do you see him creating more or moving more off ball?
I'm not sure I can answer this, but I think he needs the ball to do his stuff. We'll see!
Zoom- Face Cut may belong to Obra. He was playing Zoom-Face Cut with Sloukas-Kalinic when he was coaching for Fenerbahce
Interesting point! I wonder if there was similar things for him even earlier like in Yugoslavia...
where do yo find all that clips?
check the video description ;) Hint: I hand pick all of them :P

Snag? More like dominate the final 4
Yeah, sorry I missed that one. It was a long run for the Greens, and they weren't the favorites. They totally dominated in the F4, I agree

Τους αφήνει να παίρνουν τις αποφάσεις.
'Οσο περίεργο κι αν φαντάζει.
Euroleague is better than NBA. I like it better. NBA is boring. I still enjoy NBA of 80s and up to mid-nineties but then started getting boring crap.
Luck factor was crucial for this man.
Yeah man, exactly, a whole regular season, a 5 games playoff series, a f4, a 5 games final Greek series with reverse sweep, so lucky 😅
