I tend to enjoy the winter videos more than any other. After a week or so harvest videos become repetitive, even more so if you watch 3 or 4 other channels. Winter time here is unique though , nobody shows their maintenance quite like here
Congrats on finishing harvest already! I remember like you going to harvest corn after Thanksgiving dinner a time or two when I was young. Thank you so much for being the type of farmer you are, trying new things, and doing things right! You are very informative and my wife and I enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work!
Exited for you on another harvest in the books! Disappointed for us that we dont get to watch harvest videos for breakfast anymore!!! HAHAHAHA Kepp up the great work, I appreciate it everyday!!
You said you are waiting on rain,it's been raining all year in Southern Michigan I'm north of you and it's been a very wet year here in Michigan so I'm not sure what you mean awesome video have a great day
The corn head has a lot more moving parts and wear parts than the bean head, so it's take longer, all that really is moving on the bean head is the cutter bar and the draper belts, the belts have a long lifespan and they rebuild the cutter bar every year before wheat harvest.
@farmkid2009 is right. Basically the corn head has more wear parts and is more involved to rebuild. Plus it's just the way the timing works out for us. We like to go through the corn head right after harvest and put it away ready to go. The bean head we generally don't feel we have time to do now and it has to be done outside because it won't fit in the shop, so we wait until just before wheat harvest to put new knife sections and do and needed repairs.
No, corn is a hybrid meaning the seed we plant is a cross between 2 inbreds. The 1st generation offspring of a hybrid, while it will grow, it will have poor germination percentage, poor seedling vigor, and just perform very poorly. It likley wouldn't even produce much of an ear.
I have been watching your videos from approximately mid harvest season last fall. Absolutely hands down the best farm channel on TH-cam.
I agree I wish more people would subscribe. Hit that like and subscribe button.

The earliest corn we plant here would be 110-111
Why do you rebuild the corn head and NOT the bean head. Or am I misunderstanding something?

Can you plant that corn you just harvested???? You made several boxes of that one hybrid
