Growing up as a little girl I would hear the choir sing this song. While singing along with them I had no idea what I was singing. But TGBTG 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I now know what it means to take IT to the Lord in prayer!!! Ohhhhh what a friend we have in sweet Jesus!!! This rendition sent me❤️🙌🏾🙏🏾

I woke up with this song in my spirit this morning! I had no idea the holy spirit was going to lead me to this version of " What a Friend We Have IN Jesus". I'm going thru some things right now. Rent is due, tuition is due and I don't have all the money that is needed! But I know the God I serve has it in his hands! The past couple of days I felt so discouraged. But God! Last night I got on my knees and gave it all to God I mean I gave it all to him! I know I have the victory!! Gods will is not my will! I know that where God leads God provides! In Jesus name Amen!

I was really in a rough patch.. I'd been singing the song to myself all week but then I needed to hear someone else. When I heard this song I was on my face. I love the arrangement and San really did some good singing on this song! Glad it could minister to you!
This song, (which isn’t even a good enough word to describe this), is soo so so beautiful. It was Recomended to me about a week ago. And I haven’t stopped playing it. It soothes my soul, they. The singers, sooth my soul. I have heard this blessed hymn so many times, but not like this.
It lifts me up, it takes me closer to humanity, to love, to joy, to the lord and saviour.

The dude who wrote this song, his fiancee died by drowning the night before his wedding. The Plymouth Brethren were estranging him from his family. He left for Canada from Dublin. He gave his wealth away, and worked for free for poor widows and the sick. Then his mother was sick in Dublin. So he wrote this lyric sent her in a letter.
When he was sick in bed a friend visited him and found these lines in a notebook. The friend asked him if he wrote these lines and he said, its between me and God. Eventually the author himself died by accidental drowning.
His name is Joseph Scriven. The hymn was added in the last minute in Ira Sankeys Gospel Hymns. It nearly didn’t make it. That’s Jesus. You’d think he cant make it. And then He shows up. Its the best timing.
I found this version about a year and a half or so ago. And when I say it blesses me EveryTIME!!! Me alone is gonna get this to a million!
