zoffinger You'll love it. Mine is secondary to my Lowrance but I went 2 months without it this spring when I was getting my boat fixed. It felt like I was missing a leg or something. I didn't realize how much I relied on it until I didn't have it.
I just got one for my yak also. Would love some help and advice on how and where to mount it. The big rig fd has a dedicated scupper designed for the transducer but it’s directly behind the prop. I’m concerned about prop wash interference. Can you help me out?
LOL. Exactly. The fishing has been horrible. This video was shot at the end of a three day trip where I only caught 6 fish and didn't get a single one on camera. It happens. But I just got back from the lake where I filmed a good one that will be up sometime next week.
Ordered the dragonfly 4 pro with navionics gold yesterday its going to be in tomorrow i cant wait to try it going to the lake this weekend if its not raining!

Still a fan of the Dragonfly 7? I have a 999SI at my console and and worthless pirahnamax 197DI at my bow. Considering the 7 for the bow. For the 400-500 price range, seems like it would be a good buy. I do not see myself needing SI at the bow. I mainly fish for sandbass, hybrids, and stripers, so I want something on my bow that I can tell when the school has moved on.
If you had to choose one fish finder what would it be? I have been deciding between the lowrance 7 chirp or the dragon fly. Please explane why you would choose what you would choose. I have a mirrocraft boat so I will only use one finder. Thanks for the videos. Keep them coming.

I currently have a Humminbird 570DI and I regret buying it because it is B&W and useless in the sun. Since you have both Dragonfly and Lowrance Elite-7 which would you recommend? Again great review.
I would recommend the 7HDI up on the trolling motor and the Dragonfly for the console. The 7 has a much slower processor and doesn't refresh your position very quickly, It will drive you crazy when at the wheel. The dragonfly has a very large transducer and will take up every bit of room on the bottom of your trolling motor. But the do make a nice trolling motor mount for it.

Are you putting the DragonFly on the new boat. I'm thinking about finally upgrading my depth/fish finder on my boat and am wondering which way to go. I have a Skeeter FS125 and and thinking about mounting a DragonFly on the console and putting an Elite 7 up front off of the trolling motor. I don't know much about the transducer size on the Elite 7. Would that be ok mounting it to the trolling motor?

I REALLY like the screen and user friendly controls vs other units. May I ask WHY you wouldn't use it up front, but you do use Elite?
The only reason is because I also have a hydrowave attached to my trolling motor and with the larger size of the Dragonfly transducer it just wouldn't fit. They make a great trolling motor mount for it and it will work fine. It just doesn't work for me.

DON'T get any of the Navionics packages with it, save your money and just buy the Dragonfly with the transducer. The Navionics packages that you can buy with it are NOT eligible for free updates like the others are. Plus, the unit already has a map in it anyway. I have yet to get the Navionics chip to fully function in mine.

The DV on the Raymarine is a little better than the HDS so I use the HDS for GPS and Side Scan and the Dragonfly for Down Vision.

7'6" Med Hvy for rigs and jigs up to 1/2oz. Any heavier you need to go with a Hvy action rod.

Raymarine makes nice equipment. The company where I work has used them them for a long time. It should last you for many years.

C Ford If I remember correctly the Navionics chip that comes with the Dragonfly has a good map of KY Lake. I'd check before ordering the Platinum.

They sell a very good trolling motor mount for the transducer.

Maximized Bass No. It's a good downscan unit but the HDS units are better all around fish finders.
