    If you truly want discrimination to stop, start by taking "race" off of all applications. Not just universities, mortgages, rentals, employment. If race is truly not supposed to matter, then it doesn't need to be on any application.

      In Australia we don't have that on any forms. I find this really strange. The only race we have listed is Aboriginal and Torres strait Islander which if ticked, gets you to the front of any line, gets you twice as much money, exclusive scholarships, gets you twice as much assistance and significantly lowers standards required for entry to educational institutions.

      I agree. In fact this whole "race" label was coined by colonialists. There's actually only one race-the human race. There are different ethnicities, but none of this should matter on any application form. Selecting people based on skin colour is straight-up discrimination.

When filling out race in things tat ask I have always put black for all of us for the last 21 years. Maybe because of the both races are considered ethnic groups it never occurred to me that by doing so I was not acknowledging both heritages and not totally excepting them. Thanks this really opened my eyes to how we are being forced to choose when in actuality, it’s not a choice. It’s biology thanks again.

      Except for portraiture (duh, you can't get the kindness without at least approximating skin tones) and identification (the black gentleman over there; that white dude at the bus stop)...... I can't think of a time it ever really did matter to me and mine.
      I was raised to judge men by the content of their character.
      Something a great man once family said he dreamed about seeing happen one day......
      I think we can get there.
      We need a moral populace to even get started.
      That means, at minimum, that the morally upright must ACT THEIR PART and do the work we were sent by our Creator to accomplish.
      This single action, by it's very nature, will correct all other societal issues, in time.

      How to not be racist: Stop using the word "race" altogether.
      "White" = light brown human
      "Black" = dark brown human
      "Asian" = mid-brown human
      We all have different "brown" skin tones and are all ONE race of human beings. Just because someone has more concentrations of melanin pigments because of their lineage doesn't make them a different "race" - it's purely a social construct with no biological basis whatsoever.

    • @skydriver5709

      Historically, only the powerful had the means to actually discriminate. You can have bias and prejudice in your heart all you want to, but if you have no power, your bias and prejudice can't be put into effect, which is the meaning of discrimination. Discrimination is the resulting effect of bias/prejudice, suffered by others.
      Can you give an example of discrimination by one person against another, where power over the person discriminated against, doesn't exist? You can't.
      If you're an employer, your power is over employment, therefore discrimination comes in the form of hiring discrimination.
      If you're a business owner, your power is over your customer selection, therefore discrimination comes in the form of customer discrimination.
      If your in charge of college admittance, your power is over who can/can't get accepted, therefore discrimination comes in the form of application denial.
      If you're a kid and the basketball is yours, your power is who can/can't play. You get the idea.
      Saying discrimination comes from a place of power, IS IN FACT 100% correct. But you wouldn't know that if you really hadn't thought it through. You made your disagreement known, but you supplied no argument against it. Can you? Just disagreeing with something doesn't make one educated, either. So I challenge you to give a single example of actual discrimination, where one person has no power over the other, and you'll win. If you can't give a single example, you'll know you're wrong.
      I await ANYONES challenge. A single example will do. If your example contains discrimination, I will expose the power one person had that made the discrimination possible.

    • @praapje
      @praapje ปีที่แล้ว

      That´s the marxist definition. It´s ridiculous. Discrimination is simply treating people in a negative way based on immutable characteristics, which could be anything. Bullying someone because they have glasses or red hair is also discrimination. The notion that white people cannot be discriminated against is itself racism to the core.

    I have been affected by affirmative action twice. As a white woman, I was the wrong color for one job, and did not get the promotion that I should have gotten, because it would "look" better to have a black woman in that position. I raised my kids to be colorblind, and now here we are again looking at the color of skin and discriminating against white and anyone who doesn't follow the agenda. So sick of it all. Just wish we could go back to being colorblind, we are all human.

      What both sides don’t understand is that black people (especially black men) don’t benefit that much from affirmative actions. White women technically benefit the most from affirmative action (funny, huh?), then black women, then latina women, then black women, etc etc. I don’t like affirmative action (and I’m black), but I always find these conversations interesting, usually with respect to how it’s framed as a “discrimination against whites” thing, when in actuality, women benefit from it the most, particularly white women. So the white American community seems to be discriminating within itself, which could explain for why more white women are educated over white me.

    • @gotnatas
      @gotnatas ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dfwherbie8814
      It very much is discriminatory towards white men. Especially in this day and age so many years later after the country has not only bent over backwards to get black society ahead, but has done back flips and summersaults.
      Now did black men benefit less from affirmative action? Yes. But not because of some nefarious scheme against them but because of black culture.
      Did white women benefit more from affirmative action? Yes they did. But that's simply because of shear population size as well as not having a toxic culture like black society.

      It’s because he’s actually not black he’s multiracial and part black identifying as something he’s not out of altruism just to race hustle. The reason why multiracial people who are part black can get away with this is because part of their hustle is to say this country is still racist because it doesn’t acknowledge multiracial people who are part black and segregates mixed people which calling mixed people monoracial is a form of segregation because the one drop rule was designed to keep multiracial people away from white people wealth were as before the rule Mulatto was on the U.S. Census. The one drop rule was ruled as unconstitutional after but multiracial people’s racial category never got reinstated so right not multiracial Americans are the only group of people not being represented and are still segregated which is true. So he is using this to say he is black on that he does have a gripe but he is race hustling in the mean time until they get that corrected.

    Growing up in an Asian family, my mother made me wake up at 5am to study when my grades started to slip when I was in 7th grade. Everyday after school, I was required to spend 3 hours in the library before I was allowed to come home. No TV was allowed on the weekdays and I was only allowed 1 hour in the weekends. I was physically punished if I got bad grades. The emphasis on good grades came before social life, athletics, my feelings, and even the my relationship with my parents. Statistically, Asians study twice as much as everyone else. Asians doing well has nothing to do with "access". Also the things I mentioned my parents did were free. Those who claim those with better scores are a result of access and wealth are speaking out of ignorance and know nothing about Asian culture.

      Candace is a hypocrite! She benefited off of affirmative action, but now she doesn’t want anyone else too. White women have benefited more from affirmative action than all other minorities put together. Candace Owens and the other women on Dr. Phil told so many lies. In Ivy League schools if your dad went to that school you have a better chance of getting in. Do you really think that white people have always got certain job’s that they were more qualified than black people? They got the jobs because of who their father is or there social status and that’s why affirmative action was created. A lot of white women are more qualified and smarter than the white men they were passed over for. So when affirmative action was created, white women were no longer looked over because they were the wrong gender. That’s right affirmative action helped create feminism, but see they were just focused on blacks and other minorities. You see a half truth is still a lie. Don’t let them fool you. Candace Owens gets paid to say the evil things that racist white people want to say, but they are to scared because they don’t want their businesses to fail.

    College faculties have more grifters and con artists than a prison block.
    The impulse to grift comes from three places: 1. They want to prove they're smarter than everyone else by claiming something outrageous and forcing everyone to say it's true; 2. They have very easy lives and are bored; 3. They lie to themselves, talking themselves into all sorts of nonsense, because they have no reality checks.
    I wasn't popular with my colleagues and took that as a badge of honor. The students liked me a lot, though, because I didn't try to indoctrinate them. I gave them the facts and taught them logic and let them figure out the world on their own.
