A short old man story.
Around 2000 or so, when I was working on starting my own record label, I found myself down on the Lower East Side of Manhattan when mid-day hunger struck. One of my friends suggested this wee small deli down the street. It was one of those places that have the customers sitting shoulder to shoulder, all of the three of them, it's such a teeny tiny kind of place.
My sandwich ready, I asked the only other customer, a woman who was reading a newspaper, if it was okay to sit down nearby. She waved her hand and told me to "Sit!" She initiated some conversations about the weather, where I lived, local politics, just small talk. We had a nice 1/2 hour chat.
It was only after she went to leave, and I saw her walking away from the table, I realized I had "lunch" with Joni Mitchell and I didn't even recognize her.

you don't remember 8-track tapes. Its like a record or cassette, it's another way to listen to music. you have to have an 8 track player to listen to it
We were being a little facetious. 😎 The first two pieces of music I owned were on 8-track, Kiss Destroyer & Elvis at the Movies. I was a very confused child. 😂 Best, John
