If it's literally going to provide the same results, why would you wreck two test cars when one will yield the results 🤷🏻 I'm a mechanical engineer though so maybe it's a bit more obvious to me.

So, yes crashing into the concrete wall is a good approximation of a head on collision, but in order to apply the results to the real world you have to take into account the weights and speeds of both vehicles to determine the deceleration of each.
