Honestly, I think the haters are way too harsh on the remake. I watched both movies and I love them both equally for different reasons. Colt Prattes is an amazing dancer, acts pretty well and, let's be honest is a really good looking and sexy guy and as for Abigail Breslin, I think she made a pretty good Baby. She is a great actress and yes, her dancing wasn't perfect but at least it was realistic. In the original, Jennifer Grey was a perfect dancer at the end of the movie even though she only danced three weeks of her life. And please, stop saying Colt and Abigail didn't have any chemistry, are you blind? Their chemistry is pretty obvious to me. There will always be haters because they worship the original but let's be honest, if they had done the exact same scenes and dances in the remake, people would still have found something to say in a negative way.

A nurse tells him that Dr. Houseman will be with him shortly Johnny thinks it's Baby's father but when the door opens he gets the shock of his life that it is Dr. Houseman but not Baby's father but Baby herself. And just take it from there.

In the original, baby, although awkward about it, very clearly agreed to this. Here she's trying to leave after he goes off at her, and he just grabs her.. Like, the original was supposed to be awkward but I find it more awkward that their trying to make it chill and it's not. And why does Penny get jealous and cut in, that's not their relationship at all.. Also, the 'I carried a watermelon' line was supposed to be incredibly awkward and something that she immediately repeats to herself when he walks away like why the hell would I say that.. 'I carried his watermelon' just sounds like they tried to oversexualise it. It would have been kind of ok though had his response actually made sense. Terrible rewriting. The dirty dancing is too choreographed to be dirty, and this movie is basically the 'pretty version'. No-ones really mad at anyone and everything is algood all the time, except they added one problem, the parents, which is the strangest thing ever to add in because the wife in the original is so up in dream land that it's entertaining. Yes a remake could be done, it'd never be better than the original but it could totally be done, this just isn't it. And yes a remake changes things sometimes, but they changed the wrong things. Also, the actors have 0 chemistry, and if this is the more choreographed version how come there are less people in it who can actually dance.. irony. I think that the general idea for this version would have been a kinda cute movie on its own, but it's terrible as a dirty dancing remake.
You have to remember that this "remake" is supposed to be her seeing his Broadway musical called Dirty Dancing. When you look at the movie in the perspective it does change the whole dynamic of this movie. While the original was definitely the best, this one isn't terrible considering the whole plot of the movie.

Watching this teeny tiny clip was torture enough - I couldn't imagine trying to muster through the entire film. And WTH was Nicole S. thinking, playing Penny? She's better than that. She's the only one w/dancing talent but even she can't hold up the rest of the cast's inability to do, well, anything they were hired to do. No one else can dance; hell, Abigail bends like steel, aka she doesn't. There's no appeal, attraction, mystery, suspense, emotion, nothing interesting. It's dull. Oh, and please don't get me started on the fact that they pointlessly turned this into a shitty musical. The entire, cheap production is a cringeworthy failure. It doesn't plant a smile on the audience's face like the original - it makes the viewer feel physical pain. They should use this as a torture tactic. It'd probably be more effective than Chinese water torture. 👎

I absolutely love this version. More story. Have watched it over 10 times already. It was never gonna be like the original but did a great job. Colt was never trying to be Patrick. I love colts dancing more than Patrick and there was plenty of chemistry between Colt and Abigail. I'm trying to find the whole movie on the net but no luck. I have it saved on my Foxtel box... Thank god!!!!

Guys I don't like the hate. Remember, this is a musical based on the movie. They just made it look like the remake but at the end, it shows the stage and everything so chill.

I like original,but this scene is really enjoyable..Nicole is amaizing
Though the remake has no shine over the original it does have it's good scenes. I just wish they had done a little better, been a little more respectful for the original. By the way, Abigail Bresnan's body weight has nothing to do with her dancing. she is a beautiful women who deserves respect for trying to play an iconic role. She can dance, (even if it is a little stiffer then the original Baby) it just doesn't seem like she got much practice in for the movie. I believe they should have taken longer and changed some of the script. I just wish people would stop being rude about her weight, I think she was absolutely gorgeous in the movie!!!
Agree. I give Abigail credit for doing this movie. I don't know why they pick her maybe her acting or age.

I absolutely love this version. More story. Have watched it over 10 times already. It was never gonna be like the original but did a great job. Colt was never trying to be Patrick. I love colts dancing more than Patrick and there was plenty of chemistry between Colt and Abigail. I'm trying to find the whole movie on the net but no luck. I have it saved on my Foxtel box... Thank god!!!!

Hate the fact that they made it into a musical but I have to admit the one that plays Johnny is cute
He's so good at singing and dancing, not to mention he's unbelievably handsome. I want to see more of him in future movies.

I like it too! I watched the film the other day and enjoyed it! Admittedly, at first, I was like how can they remake dirty dancing. As a remake, it's not the best, but as a movie, on its own, I really liked it!🤗👍🏽

I love both of the movies...
But really I feel old version was perfection because it looked like reel life and too good to be true🤔 but the new version truly feels like real life....🙄 like every normal, awkward,shy clumsy girl's story who's trying to learn the thing which is absolutely opposite from her personality....
I mean we all love the moves of Patrick & Jennifer but do you really think any non dancer can pull of such a great act in such a short time...... c'mon...😆 All I want to say is that Original Dirty Dancing was perfection but the new one is also really very good...
