    Nice video, I use a rubber puck in the cup of the trolley jack, protects the jacking point imo

    Thanks for the great video :) I’ll do this job coming spring, I chose for an ATE set, let’s see how they behave! Just a little note for other Volvo enthusiasts, Volvo Vida tells not to put any grease on the slider pins… I don’t think you did it wrong, just saying 😊

      Also avoid using copper grease on pads, use specific brake paste. Copper grease transfers heat from the pad to the caliper and can make the fluid hotter than it needs to be. Reason Volvo (or almost all slider pins) are grease free or a very light smear of lithium grease is to avoid the grease hydrolocking and stopping the pin moving its full travel. If the pins are worn in any way just replace them.

    Hi great video mate, just what I've been looking for so cheers 🍻,
    Do you know what brand of discs and pads they come with from factory?
    And how are the Brembo doing after time?

    • @IAMASPANNER
      @IAMASPANNER 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t know who make Volvo original parts but some sources suggest Brembo or Bosch. The Brembo parts have lasted great, most notably the centres haven’t gone rusty like they have done when I’ve used other parts like Delphi or MTEC.

    Last week i ordered and mounted the same brembo brake pads and discs as you on my Volvo v40. After installation i hear some squeecking from te front on braking.
    Is this normal after installation? Did you also have the same noise?
    Thanks!

      Did you coat all mating surfaces with copper grease?

    • @ziadbakkich7233
      @ziadbakkich7233 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IAMASPANNER yes is did, the only thing i noticed after a 100 miles is that the brake discs look lightly scratched by the brake pads.
      The back doesnt have this scratches kn the discs and is also not making this noise.

      Been seeing a lot of hate for copper grease this year yet never before, what’s changed? I’ve now got ceramic grease but even that is only supposed to be for the pads? What’s up with the wire brush as well?

      Yes, the car was designed while Ford owned Volvo so lots of things were similar.
