  • Nonprofits play a pivotal role in the U.S., often providing essential community services or taking on vexing social challenges. During the COVID-19 pandemic, nonprofits stepped up in vital ways, even as they themselves faced an unprecedented period of challenge. Four years on, how are nonprofits faring? What challenges do they face? What do funders - both institutional and individual - need to know in order to best support these crucial institutions? Relatedly, with concern about burnout among nonprofit staff and leaders high, how are funders approaching well-being at grantee organizations?
In this free webinar, hosted in partnership with Philanthropy California, we examine CEP’s new report, State of Nonprofits 2024: What Funders Need to Know, which takes the pulse of nonprofit leaders through CEP’s nationally representative Nonprofit Voice Panel. We also discuss findings from a forthcoming CEP Research Snapshot, How Foundations are Supporting Grantee Staff Well-Being, which explores how funders are perceiving and acting on issues related to the well-being and burnout of staff at their grantee organizations.
    Panelists:
Elisha Smith Arrillaga, Vice President, Research, CEP
Gloria Corral, President and CEO, Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE)
Tim Delaney, President and CEO, National Council of Nonprofits
Elizabeth (Beth) Brown, Managing Director, Mental Health and Well-Being, Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation
    Phil Buchanan, President, CEP (moderator)

Thanks for this important discussion. And thanks for shout outs to Fund the People, Building Movement Project, and others who’ve been working on issues related to nonprofit work and workforce for years.
