Best of luck with your new venture Mark. I'm sure many will miss your "no nonsense" dive equipment reviews as well as the other valuable content you provide to the scuba community.
Wow. Wish you best of luck with your new ventures. You and Shawn was my source of diving info and also help me pass some times getting through the boredom of pandemic lock downs.
You'll absolutely be missed! Will follow you over to SDM (and I'm sure others will!). As a super passionate gear nerd, if I could afford to not do my current job, I would jump at the chance to show interest in being a replacement ;)
To both Mark and Shaun, I think I can speak for everyone here ( both the company and the wider audience ) when I say good luck with the new ventures. It’s been a fantastic couple of years listening to you both and the amount of people you’ve helped within the industry has been phenomenal. Thank you for being the editing power house, face and voice of simply for as long as I can remember, we still need to get Shaun OW certified! Safe diving Mark, and Safe riding Shaun.
Thank you for your videos over the years mark and answering my questions when I had them. Always loved the back and forth you had with Shaun and you will be missed at simply no doubt, I don't think you get enough recognition at all for the quality of videos here on this channel! I never was a huge fan of SDM videos but hopefully you'll right that soon enough and I can still check you out over on their channel. Safe Diving
Hi Mark.... first, I will try to catch you on the new channel... your videos have been most educational and much appreciated. NEXT - WOW.. how cool was it that you answered my query in this video... For the record, I had the brass bolts snaps from my boating days and they have worked well... not a bent one in the lot--:)... That said, I only buy SS and have started using the Xdeep snaps. Again, thanks for explaining why brass snaps are not your favorite -- I appreciate learning your thinking on the topic.
Hey Mark, thanks for answering my question! Sorry to see you leave here but I went ahead and subscribed to SCUBA Diver Magazine. Didn't know that was a thing until you mentioned it! Good luck!
Awsome! I think this is going to be huge. I think this is where you where with them be when I first found you. I hope they give you room to be more you. You're an awesome host and I will follow. The host will have big shoes to fill.
Good luck Marc, I will always be eternally grateful to you for all the things I have learnt from you. If you ever have some time off and would like to swim in the south of France you are welcome. Cheers
Mark you will be fully missed i remember meeting you at the start of my time at shows in the industry, however i'm sure you'll fully enjoy your time at scuba diver magazine with Mark and the team.
Hi I juststart scuba diving I done my ocean diver I want to start to buy my kit Can you do a list for me if you have time and want us well please Many thanks
First get a decent mask and a Dive computer. It depend how much you will be diving to warrant buying the rest. Are you going a couple of times a year or every weekend? If a few times or just on holiday the rent the rest. If every weekend then paying out for bcd and regs will be worth it. I'm going down the professional route so I've gone for top of the range equipment. If it worth you buying a £500 bc if you are going to use it a couple of times a season or rent one for £20 a pop. Hope this helps.
@@peterpanci78 OK, if you are doing diving in the UK I would suggest doing your drysuit certificate and buy a drysuit. They can be quite expensive first hand and depending on the material but worth definitely worth it over a 7mm semi dry. I also travel a lot so I bought the hydros Pro from scubapro.
A couple: - The Teric has a rechargeable battery, the Perdix 2 a user changeable AA battery. Both have a comparable run time of 60 hours, but the Perdix is only used during the dive, so in practice the AA cell lasts a lot longer than a charge of the Teric. The Teric will need to be charged every 2 days or so, the Perdix will do a liveaboard of 15 days with 4 dives a day without a battery change. - The Teric has Apnea mode, the Perdix doesn't. - The screen layout of the Perdix is more practical because it's rectangular. It allows related information to be grouped together. - The screen of the Teric is brighter than the Perdix. - The user interface of the Teric is easier than the Perdix because it has more buttons.
Best of luck with your new venture Mark. I'm sure many will miss your "no nonsense" dive equipment reviews as well as the other valuable content you provide to the scuba community.
Mark you’ve helped me from a fresh open water diver to where I am now. Good luck and thank you for everything!
Thank you for taking my question and the insight on halcyon and xdeep! Much appreciated!!
