    Yeah Tonali wasnt signed to be the next Pirlo, he was signed to be the first Tonali... the dude is going to be incredibly useful in so many positions and allow for depth at a time when Newcastle really just need depth, and a larger squad of similar players to what they have so they can get back to the champions league again year after year, and continue to build upon what they have.
    He's a really useful signing and I hope they bring in a left-back to take Dan Burn's spot and allow Dan Burn to be rotated in and out to provide depth at multiple positions.
    Newcastle want to be in the top 4 every year, Tonali is the kind of smart signing that gets you there.

    Massively impressive player and a perfect fit for Eddies system, i hope he settles in and have no doubt that he will. The vibe around the club is so exuberant and with the Toon squad being so happy to play with each other, I have no doubt Eddie and Ashworth will have studied this guys mental fortitude and whether he will be able to leave his beloved AC Milan and settle in with us. If he does well we are going to have a fantastic season (providing we get a LB first and foremost as we need to progress in that position matter how well BDB did last season, plus he can cover CB. then we need someone across the front. A RW , no offence to miggy and murphy i love them boys but we need some other option there , something different. Long season.
    Also need rb cover if ashby isnt ready and Krafth is not up to it, Another Cb To cover schar but like i say, if we get a RB then we have burn as cover, and even is Lascelles gets game he will try his heart out. Again ,we are ran so well that i do see a younger CB to come in to cover /understudy to Schar, the same way we signed Isak as it just made complete sense, and we operate like this, What an amazing time for us all. -> Already has high PnP. Only gonna improve in Newcastle.
    -> It's not like he can't make long passes. People coming to too many conclusions from his Milan footage. They should prolly have a look at his Brescia footage.
    -> "Oh but Tonali can't create chances".
    Klopp - " I don't need an extra playmaker cuz Gegenpressing is my ultimate playmaker."
    Tonali is basically Henderson(physical AND mental profile and he's ONLY 23 yrs old). He's gonna lead and organise Newcastle's press. He'll effectively create chances that way.
    -> Trippier won't have to take part in the build-up. He can just focus on the attacking side of things.
    -> When RCB and RB are out, Tonali can fill in. He's versatile af....
    -> Tonali won't completely remove Bruno G's defensive burdens but my god will they drastically come down. Bruno will have an increased role in the attack as well.
    -> Most important point: He's only 23. He's programmable.
    By signing Tonali, Newcastle have added 10+ goals scored and -10 goals conceded.
    That's effectively 20 damn goals.
    And the best part is....I haven't even written about Tonali's passion yet. This fuckin guy is AS PERFECT AS IT GETS for St. James' Park. You can't teach that quality. Its an innate thing that some players have. St. James' Park will adopt this random Italian boy and treat him like their son. His homesickness will go away in a month.

    Bruno likes to get forward too, he has an eye for a pass too, so together they're a complete 6 and 8... which works out.

      Thanks man, genuinely really nice to be able to talk about them and be excited rather than what we've been used to. I've got them down as 4th again in the magazine this month but, truthfully, I think just staying in the top 6 would be an enormous achievement for that. Going to be a tough year.

    • @garrycatherall3515
      @garrycatherall3515 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@adamcleryFFT I agree, I think the adjustment to playing CL football this year will burden the team and make it really difficult to make top 4 again. It will be a tight race for CL football. Hopefully with a few more additions and Gordon hitting form then we may have an outside chance. Keep up the good work mate 👍🏼

      Chelsea have got themselves a shrewd manager now who can maximize what players bring to the team. And he has a pretty big palette to play with at Chelsea. I expect them to be up for it this year. Them, City and Arsenal again. Liverpool's new midfield will take time to bed in, Man U don't know what they're doing and as for Spurs, ex-Celtic managers generally don't fare well in the Prem. Villa will be the dark horses.

  • @joshualogan-ross5430
    @joshualogan-ross5430 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've got faith in howe and what he does on the training fields to bring Tonali onto a new level in time.
    People forget, he's only 23, he's got loads of development time in him, he's going to play alongside powerful, quality midfielders, in joelinton, longstaff, willock, Bruno. Who all bring something different but what they all have is a high work rate. He's got great experience for his age, he's played in champions league knockout games, he's won titles, he's won player of the year in serie B. And he's a dedicated professional to his craft. His work rate along with howes ability to improve players and understand their tactical awareness should hopefully lead to a brilliant match.
    It's going to be an extremely tough season next season. Top 6 might even be extremely challenging with the likes of Liverpool, spurs, Chelsea all improving and will come much stronger after their blips. They've also all invested in quality players.
    So if newcastle can again compete for the top 4 that will probably be an even bigger achievement this season coming.
    hopefully at least 2 more first team signings through the door to support what we already have.
    A left back and a winger ideally as the biggest priorities.
    Another young CB to push behind Fab Schar would be perfect too. But we'll see what happens.

    Eddie Howe M/F will be the best in the EPL because each individual,player will be capable of being each of the requisite positional players when they need to be. Tonali will be no 6 then no 8 as Bruno was an 8 then a 6.

    i honestly think hes come in to start in the 3 with bruno and sean, with willock and joe as back up, joe playing left with maxi cover, gordan and miggy on the right wilson isak up front. Eddie has such faith in sean for a reason. Willock is like our milner, he can play all over the front hes so versatile important to have. the squad eddie is building is going to be scary by next summer especially if we make top 4 or champions league again

    • @stephenderry9488
      @stephenderry9488 ปีที่แล้ว

      Newcastle actually have a lot of versatility now, players who can play on the left or the right, or up front, or as a holding midfielder, or an attacking midfielder, just look at our left-back last season! We need to stop thinking about "best XI" and start using the squad a bit more on a horses for courses basis, Sure we've a few players who will probably start every game if fit (Pope, Botman, Trips, Bruno), but so many options now through midfield, on the wings and even up front (Gordon as striker?) that rotation between and within games isn't just possible, it's actually a huge advantage.

    • @anon-zk6iz
      @anon-zk6iz ปีที่แล้ว

      Wilson & Isak upfront, Gordon and Maxi on the left, Miggy & Murphy on the right, Big Joe, Bruno & Sandro in the middle with Willock, Sean & Elliot as cover.

    for me tonali feeds the 2 forwards and joe, we need 20 plus more goals this season to be up there with city, harvy barns could bring 10 , personally we need another 10 plus goal scorer , to come on late, hopefully ai has an injury free season , as we are yet to see what he can really do in a season

    I think I'd prefer Tonali at set pieces then Tripps. I love Tripps, he's irreplaceable, bit since he got back from injury, his delivery has been right off. He still is the starting point for most goals and is essential to defence, but look at our corners scored last year, terrible. We either need him back on his game there or hand it over to sandro
