    What you missed out not entering the mausoleum, is that you get a 360° view from there. You can actually see most of the country and on a clear day also the Italian coast.

    • @WeWillNomad

      We would like to see we've had some amazing views of Montenegro already - in spite of missing out this time. It's a tricky balance at times to choose what you do or don't do. Not everybody travel the way we do (or would even want to!) and that's fine!

    Incredible park up at the beach and very eerie even watching you walk around! Since you've been back in Europe you've been filling our notebook! Budget is something we talk about all the time, it's hard to know how we're doing as we've yet to cover huge miles, so fuel is low whilst accommodation is ridiculous! Anyway, another great film, the mountain park up was unreal 😍

    • @WeWillNomad
      @WeWillNomad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Really interesting part of Europe. And for you this is the best (only?) place to wiggle around the Schengen limits? As for budget, for us it's very much the other way around. We hardly (if ever) pay for parking and if we do it will be because we're in a location (city) we want to visit - for a good reason. Everything tends to average out though. in 'cheaper' countries you might be tempted to spend more on food and dining.. Generally speaking, you should be saving heaps even in countries like France (and thrive in Spain and Portugal).

    Just started watching this videos guys, but paused to say... is Lisa always so positive ? its refreshing, my wife complained to me this morning that the only news that she gets on her phone is bad news, I told her to stop reading them. In a world of predominantly bad news, its great to see someone with such a positive outlook and a wonderful zest for life.
    Andre - I'm afraid I can't talk to you until Monday. Ireland are playing the baby Boks in the U20 Rugby World Cup semi-final on Sunday in Cape Town. I'm so looking forward to it, ok if we win I might tune in next week, if not, I'm not so sure... ;-)

    The wife and I would not pay the €8 too. I always say I'm more interested in the countryside, basically anything not man made. plus with levels of VAT on everything, we pay way to much in this life, tax on tax until nothing is left.
    We have had a lovely long weekend in our Van near our home in France, two lakes for swimming, parking free. very few people, great walks, cost was what we brought at the supermarket (€15) and diesel for the van (€10) Happy days. 🙂 🇫🇷

    The two Montenegro videos maybe my favourites.
    I'd rather stay in and explore a small unknown town for a week than go up the Eiffel tower, tourist spots not my thing. (Although I did do the 'must sees' on my very first trip 47 years ago!)

    • @WeWillNomad
      @WeWillNomad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Adrianna! We completely agree with you! That's why ideally one want to visit everywhere twice... once to see the 'must see' highlights and then the next time to really experience it in a more relaxed manner. Sometimes that's why we do a housesite, just to experience living in a small town or new place. Thanks for continuing to travelling with us! 😍

    • @creekyknee
      @creekyknee ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree 100%. I recently was given out to by a friend of mine for setting up a gem (un-discovered) of a place in Ireland on Park4night. He said, "You know that now you have ruined it". And he was probably right. Now, everyone knows about it. Most of the best places are free with nobody else around.

    • @WeWillNomad
      @WeWillNomad  ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you Lisa and Andre, for visiting Lovćen National Park. I know you have a limited budget, and you want to avoid the crowds in the tourist spots. Here are the reasons to visit Cetinje, the mausoleum on Lovcen, Ivan's trough, and of course Kotor, maybe next fall, when it's less crowded. I think that it is the most beautiful part of our most beautiful Montenegro.

    That was amazing Andre and Lisa. You are living such a rich life at the moment, thanks for sharing it with us.
    And.. I'm sorry, I made notes....
    - that lovely bay town, it reminds me of Saint Jean De Luz in the South of France. With the horse-shoe bay with the amazing beaches.
    - Love the history background narrative, keep it up. Its so great to hear about the history of the area that you are visiting.
    - Radwagon 4 Cargo bike still going well ? It seems it, we still haven't committed but this bike is still in the picture.
    - You should never kill a spider. Lisa how could you....
    - the abandoned area was indeed creepy. Sad really.
    - I agree 100% with your decision to not see/pay for everything, having a consensus between the two of you is key. You "seem" to get on very well together, tis a rare dynamic in my experience.
    That's it, enjoy Montenegro and take care of each other.

    • @WeWillNomad
      @WeWillNomad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Ronan! Travelling like this brings amazing moments as well as some challenges. But if you keep your sense of humor it's a battle half won. We definitely get on well (not much of a choice 😋 ) but after traveling together for so long it would not have been possible if we don't have consensus on 'most' things. To make it sustainable we need to have the same goals.

    I was staying in Ulcinj for most of June and stumbled across the abandoned Valderos resort by accident! I had no idea what the backstory was and was trying to figure out how old it was and when it was abandoned. I went into one of the dilapidated cabins (with lots of spiders and broken glass 😬) and there were some mouldy water-damaged books and magazines scattered around on the floor. The dates on the magazines were from 2005-2007 iirc.
    I tried to find a more recent magazine because I figured the place had been abandoned about 4 or 5 years ago but couldn't find one. (There was a lot of stuff strewn around .... clearly some local teens or crazy people have done some vandalism, but I would have thought that after 15 years everything would have been picked clean.) Now I know the backstory, that mystery is solved. A very interesting place!

    • @WeWillNomad
      @WeWillNomad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, we always find it unbelievable when abandoned places still have so many items lying around that have not (yet) been stolen! Wow, it must have been interesting to go into the cabins although I (Lisa) was already dodging the spiders outside! How was June in Ulcinj? Probably a good month to be there before it gets too busy! Thanks for watching 😊
