So glad you unearthed this and put it up. Gerald was so professional and yet had quite a twinkle in his eye remembering the episodes. Thanks again for taking us way-y-y back .

Fantastic to see another one of these escape the fate of never being released.

Gerard Plunkett really showed his great range in those two roles. As Tuplo he portrayed an aristocrat from a preindustrial society lacking even basic medical knowledge which Gerard played in an almost comedic way. As Nem, an alien looking for the wife he lost after 2,000 years ago only to find out the tragic truth mined from Daniel's deep store of knowledge about those ancient myths.
The "Fire and Water" episode is an example of the writers, producers, and directors of SG1 telling a fictional story along the lines that the book, "The Chariots of the Gods" and the docudrama SYFY series, "Ancient Aliens" attempted to exhibit as alternative narratives of the origins of human civilization. Of course Daniel is a fictional representation who proves the reality of the propositions about which Eric Von Daniken and others with similar opinions could only speculate.
David, thanks for showing this 5 year old episode of Dial the Gate. As you can see by my comment it got me thinking about the Stargate franchise and it's relationship to those other divergent points of view in a different way.
