Should get some other coverage moves too.

Then solar beam needs to get boost on turn 1 too

Ampharos was my MVP when I was a kid playing Gold and Silver.
Used to a run a Defence-invested Assault Vest Ampharos on Showdown now and then. The surprising bulk caught a few players off-guard, so it was a fun chap. Nice to see it get a bit of love, and only a pity it never did get that dragon-typing on the normal form
Still wild to me that our first sheep pokemon ends up a dragon

Ampharos is what I call a perfect Storymon. Linear three-stage evolution, strong offensive STAB, decent bulk, some useful resists and defensive abilities. Sweeps through Will, Wallace, Juan, OHKOs three of Red's Pokemon...

As an average amphoras enjoyer, you could use Electro Ball instead of Thunderbolt, since it does more damage the faster you are

Instead of Tera blast I’m pretty sure ampharos learns dazzling gleam with the same power of 80 so it’s better to have that with consistent coverage and then the stab if you need it when tera’d

I also ran ampharos recently and found its very effective with assault vest as you can still raise your sp atk with charge beam inone turn if you really need the boost but i feel like modest is enough also run max Def and max special attack

Ampharos does NOT suck. He is amazing
They really have to give it Tail Glow, it would fit it perfectly. And since its still fairly slow it wouldn't even be "too good" on it, but it would at least give it some nice wallbreaking power. It also needs some more coverage. Like it only has Focus Blast, Dragon Pulse and Dazzling Gleam as viable moves, Power Gem isn't that great. On the physical side it has Fire Punch, Ice Punch and Stomping Tantrum, those types would be great on the special side
