  • In this video I review my new ergo loupes by Orascoptic and go over the pros and cons of these loupes never ending quest for the best loupes on the market. For me in Oculoplastic surgery these loupes take a lot of the strain off my neck and upper back while I’m operating all day.

thanks for the video! I think that the magnification might feel slightly lower than 3.5 for you because the working distance is greater than with conventional loupes.

Thanks for the great video! Can I ask what you liked about Orascoptic over DFV and Surgitel, aside from how the frame looked/felt? Were the optics at Orascoptic better?

I was just listening to a podcast from brush with Brit RDH and they were talking about how the ergos increase your working distance a little bit so a 3.5 in ergos is not the same as a 3.5 in regular loupes. They were saying that a 4x mag on ergos feels like a 2.5 in regular loupes. Hopefully that makes sense. Maybe you need a 4.5 or 5x magnification since your eyes are now further away from your working area than they were with the old loupes.

I agree that dental loupes are great and better priced than designs for vision loupes. I actually like the non-customized cheaper loupes (~$300) online with adjustable PD and tilt that I can change at any time. Also the personal headlights are great for DCR, but most ORs have light cable headlamps so I never needed my own across multiple hospital systems.

    Dear Doctor
I had a blunt force injury (a string hit my right eye ball, only the eye ball). Ophtalmologist examined my eye: no damage. However, since then (16 days ago) I have developed a constant pressure in the right temple, eye pain and pain radiation from eye to back head. The Ophtalmologist could not explain why. Could the schock wave have irritated/damaged the trigeminal or any other nerve causing me these symptoms?

Hi Dr. just curious does the ergo ones tend to cause more fatigue for your eye or does it have any bad influence on your eye sign for prolong wear? Thanks

Are ergo loupes safe for your eyes? As a dentist if i were to use them all day all along would it be safe?

You need to try q optics. Same quality in vision but lighter in weight. I have the Orascoptic mini zoom and the q optic 4.5 ergo pros. Safe to say that the q optics feel more modern

Bought 5.0 ergos today. I like tge 7 gm corded light also. $3840 vhicago midwi.yer meeting price that rep.said he could.do anytime. 67.2 gms. Optics are not cantilevered far out like surgitel, which also look bulkier and I would assume heavier, and feel.heavier due to cantilevered weight. Tried both on today and orascopics all the way!

So far how do you like the oracoptics? I just got the 5.5x ergo from Surgitel, but they are causing me to have upper back pain. I was thinking of returning and trying orascoptics.

Ergo loupes don't have the same mag that your regular loupes have because as the working distance increases your magnification drops.

Hi doctor I think you get so much attention if you look at a ufc legend who has an eye problem…he’s currently as of today Monday doing a podcast and hes complaining about his eyes.
I think you will get so much exposure if you watch his videos and see the difference or what u may think it is in terms of his condition.
He has over a million subscribers and he’s a ufc legend called Chael sonnen
Right now the interview is live so wait
For at least twenty four hours when the video is uploaded I’m not sure what minute it is but he takes his sunglassses off and explains he can’t see properly.
It will be under Ariel Helwani chael
    Sonnen interview.
    I genuinely believe your Chanel
    Will
    Get so much exposure.
    Please also if it
Is something you can figure out say thanks to ajay at least I get some small credit. And he will
    Most definitely credit you.

Yo wsg bro, not gonna lie I am becoming a senior next year and I wanted to let you know some stuff, I want to be a doctor I think and be either a neonatologist, radiologist and most interested in ophthalmology but my family doesn’t support me in becoming a doctor and say I should become a plumber even though I am not good at it and don’t like it plz tell me what you think, thanks

    • @doctoreyeballmd7493
      @doctoreyeballmd7493  ปีที่แล้ว

I think you just need to explicitly figure out why do you want to be a doctor. if it is simply for money, then I would probably tend to agree with your parents and adopt a simpler trade. They are certainly faster easier ways to become wealthy than being a physician. Owning a plumbing company would be among them. However, if you feel passionate about the science and the art of medicine, and sincerely want to help people in a medical sense, then I would strongly consider it. I realize that can be very difficult and feel completely undoable to choose a life path incongruous with your parents wishes, however, in my opinion, it is your life and you have to live with the consequences.

They may be misaligned. The reps will reset the position of the loupe for you.
