      Well for me personally friendliness is NOT on the top of my list. You know what is ? TRUTH(which involves living FOR it and IN it) & LOVE . Two things I noticed people in the csra LACK,sadly. Law enforcement AKA oinkies and the courts here in the csra are CORRUPT as can be. DO NOT MOVE TO AUGUSTA AREA OR NORTH AUGUSTA. You have been warned

    Many have been stating that the first part was all white people, and that was the nice area. Actually, this was filmed during Master's week. Those people are rich people, from out of town, here to see the golf tournament. Normally that road (Washington Rd.) does not have a lot of people walking up/down it, and there are just as many black people there as there are white. That is not a 'nice area'. It's not 'bad' either.
    We do have some rougher areas in the Augusta area, just like any city.
    I just wanted to clarify that the first part wasn't the 'white' part of town.

      @Lakesha James The first part is Washington Rd. and all those trailers are at Sandra Kennedy's church. That area isn't bad year-round and it's mostly white. From Lake Almstead down is blacks. If they could tear- down those shantys around 15th St. behind Kroger and build new houses or apartments for the hospital employees, it would prosper. But Kroger went to GRU and Augustans are leaving! Evans has business but Augusta is dying. One day, Augusta will be a ghost town. There aren't many low-income apartments in Augusta. It's not as bad as some places. There just aren't jobs available.

      What do you think of Haynie Dr?

    • @hankbridges5055
      @hankbridges5055 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@meliplay At the end of Eisenhower Dr., James Brown had a radio station, WRDW- AM, FM. It was a small brick building. During a commercial, he'd say, 'Hey, this is the Godfather of Soul, James Brown on WRDW- a.m. f.m., your soul-classic station!' Then they'd play, 'I feel good, you know that I would!' It was just below that baseball field, Eisenhower field, near T. Harry Garrett Elementary School. It was on the left near the train tracks. He had a shoeshine stand on Broad Street on the 500 block in front of a barber shop when he was 13.

      Eric Hardric what up bro. The weather is perfect, in Tacoma.not ever to hot, or cold. Im actually in Tacoma, but I say Seattle cause more people know that city in the state. Where you living at now? Sometimes I do want to go back to Augusta, but man it can be hard there. But I miss home a lot tho.

      +djkoolaid253 Man, I'm in Aiken SC and it sucks donkey balls! Speaking of balls, it's so damn hot I get swamp nuts everyday I go to work! I thought I saw the devil at work the other day, it was just my supervisor. I know it's hot in Augusta too, but I would rather be there ten times over. But I'm jealous of you right now, I remember summer time in Lakewood Terrace was gorgeous! I remember climbing the old lady's apple tree behind our apartment building and eating apples until I was full, man those were the good old days! I really think I should come back.

      Eric Hardric hahaha I know you mean with the hot part lol. Bro, come back! There's lots of job hiring here! My new job I just got ( shuttle bus).is hiring 60 people, for a new contract they got. If you need help with stuff I got you man. Plus its hard to find friend's in Washington, with the Seattle freeze bull crap.

    • @CuriousGeorgePhotos
      @CuriousGeorgePhotos 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eric Hardric man I feel you on that Niggas won't go home part lol I used to have that problem. But yeah, Seattle freeze is real bro, no matter how likable you can be. When I lived in Augusta I never had a issue meeting people. I smoke weed too, I ain't got to worry about it, even tho some jobs out here still test for it now that its legal. But think about it bro, not sure if you got family where you at and don't want to leave..but its pretty good here.

      I live here and no, we don't have Spring here in Augusta, it goes from 32 one day to 98 the next with 100% sticky swamp air year around. What they don't show you on TV is that Augusta is located between a lake, river and swamp, meaning it might be only 78 out side but you can stand in the shade and have a river of sweat dripping off you from the humidity. And winter is no better.

      All of his videos show the rough/ghetto areas because most people don't feel safe going there, he's allowing us to see these places without being in danger. He films the ghetto areas of seemingly nice areas like Toronto as well, he's not intending to insult the cities. Everyone knows all these cities have nice areas as well, but that's not what we are interested in seeing

    • @bt-cv9dm

    I’m reading these comments and literally 90% don’t know what you’re taking about lol. Yes, Augusta has areas that are considered “the hood” but there are a lot of areas that are the complete opposite! From 2016 and before, some of our schools have been consistently ranked top in the state and the schools I’m mentioning have a very even split demographic which the schools pride themselves for having, we have Grammy’s that reside in this city, celebrities born and raised in this city (even if they don’t claim it), etc. Don’t judge Augusta unless you’ve lived there and experienced every part from Hepzibah and all the way up to Evans.

If somebody left their lights on, people would honk their horns because the headlights were shining on the screen! We got Coke and popcorn. National Hills theatre was there at National Hills. At Daniel Village, Santa came to K-Mart! In '70, my Dad bought a car at O.K. Used Cars on Greene Street near Greyhound. The old library had furniture from the '60's.

      Just because some places are more densely populated and urban in design doesnt necessarily make it more hood than another. To give an example. Northeastern ghettos never "looked" as friendly as Cali hoods with yards outside lifting weights but that didnt make places like Compton any less "hood" than the Bronx.

    Like many golf courses that were built many years ago Augusta National is not exactly in the best part of town or at least in 2018 it isn't. Things change and people move out further and further away from downtown. When that happens the course can be surrounded with less than desirable real estate. Although I believe there are at least some nice areas just outside of Augusta National. Maybe on the backside of the course??

  • @ejones1712

    Augusta is good place to raise a family if you are established in your career or can find a good job. The only knock on Augusta is the lack of things to do. I will say that Augusta is a little rough. As far as being dangerous, Augusta is basically like south and east Atlanta with less crime. Every time im in these areas it reminds me of home. I remember as a teenager the biggest difference between Atlanta and Augusta was the mentality of the club goers. In Augusta clubs be prepared to fight and in Atlanta be prepared to talk to some girls. Things may have changed because that was over 10 years ago. I always joke with people and say that everybody in Augusta have a little James Brown in them.

    • @martystevens3969
      @martystevens3969 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Paolo Donzella I went to school with Hulk Hogan from the 6th-10th grade. I watched Hulk-A-Mania being born right before my eyes on the playground in the 6th. I was standing about 6 ft. away from him. He came up with the name in the 6th when he was 13. His REAL name is Rick Williams. He went to A. Brian Merry Elementary, John M. Tutt Jr. High, and Westside High School. He has a sister Beverly and a brother Larry. He was on the football team in the 6th, 7th, not the 8th, and he was on the team 9-12th. I've posted a picture of him on Home Page in the 8th! If you want me to post it again I will. Let me know.

      Paolo Donzella On Home Page on G+ I put his 8th grade picture from my 8th grade yearbook! I have that yearbook right here in my room! In the 6th, he was sitting next to my right when a girl across the room said 'Rick Williams says he's going to become a wrestler and he's going to call himself Hulk Hogan.' A feeling came over me that it's true and I said 'I believe we have a celebrity in our presence.' It turned out to be true! Rick, he became Hulk Hogan! He had that gravely voice even when he was in the 6th grade. His boyhood home is at 3104 Sussex Rd. in Augusta, Ga. It's yellow with double open ended carport. There's bordergrass on both sides of the driveway. The driveway slants. Check MAPQUEST.
