For me.. if we keep Frenkie… it’s gotta be Gundo and Pedri to start, Frenkie and Gavi on the bench. Fermin also another attacker. But Gundo can’t be playing a full 90, neither can Pedri, so midfield subs are always gonna be made. Frenkie and Gundo don’t provide that Defensive work rate so we can’t play them in a pivot together. That’s why getting a CDM is crucial.

Gundo was our most reliable and consistent midfielder last season. He can also play in multiple roles depending on what Flick wants from him. So I would say he definitely is a starter. De Jong and him can work as double pivot. Or either of them can work with Gavi as double pivot. Defending is not just down to the CDMs. It's a whole team activity.

Next year, we can get Kimmich for free, which he can play in RB or DMF. Give Lamine number 10, even though he is young, he is going to be our best player for the next 15 years for sure. @@seven92023 Neither of those are CDMs… Frenkie and Gundo didn’t work last season. Whether we get Kimmich, Zubimendi, Onana, Stiller… whoever it is, needs to be able to cover ground.
For me.. if we keep Frenkie… it’s gotta be Gundo and Pedri to start, Frenkie and Gavi on the bench. Fermin also another attacker. But Gundo can’t be playing a full 90, neither can Pedri, so midfield subs are always gonna be made.
Frenkie and Gundo don’t provide that Defensive work rate so we can’t play them in a pivot together. That’s why getting a CDM is crucial.

Gundo was our most reliable and consistent midfielder last season. He can also play in multiple roles depending on what Flick wants from him. So I would say he definitely is a starter. De Jong and him can work as double pivot. Or either of them can work with Gavi as double pivot. Defending is not just down to the CDMs. It's a whole team activity.

The fact that the 3 wingers we're linked with at the moment (Luis Diaz, Nico and Philogene) are all in 3 different phases of their careers worries me quite a bit because for me, it's suggesting that we don't exactly have a specific profile for our targets in the winger department. We are becoming more and more like Manchester United in how we navigate the transfer market and that is not at all a good thing.

If we want to compete at the highest level next season, we have to sell one of the key players in order to get the financial right. I think if we get a good deal to sell Raphinha (Eric Garca, Lenglet) and invest the money for the new season in Nico and Zubimenti and if we could get another year loan deal for Joao's, it would be great.
Next year, we can get Kimmich for free, which he can play in RB or DMF.

Raphinha creates more chances, great on set pieces, our best player in high pressing, knows how to switch the play.

Philogene looks like a player that stands out. But then again.. in the Championship?… From what I’ve seen.. those are HIGHLIGHTS. Goals from both sides of the pitch. Good control. Fluid with his movement. He’s more dynamic than Ansu and Ferran that’s for sure.
But a Loan? Are you serious? Just do all you can to buy Nico. We have plenty of players to try to sell and get some money coming in.

Diaz is a gem too. Nico has a higher ceiling of course, but Diaz is already used to high pressing football at Liverpool and would be great for flick’s system
