Thanks! I discovered his early stuff through a Best of Chess LP that I found in a record store in Chicago back in 1984 or so. I' love his stuff with Junior Wells too!
Hey Dave, Got my OSBG T-shirt and I love It. Its top quality cotton, soft like you said and the design looks amazing! Also - I've been listening to The Moore Brothers CD - CONSPIREMENT all week and I'm blown away at how great it is. You guys sound awesome. Really terrific playing. Thanks again for everything!
Enjoyed your lessons. Buddy's playing in the 60's and early 70's are my favorite periods for him. I was lucky enough to see him and Junior Wells live in the early 70's, I was thrilled he played and sounded just like he did on the records. Since then he's been rock orientated, shame, but he's got to eat like the rest of us!🙂 You might want to try and cover that staccato\percussive picking he does which was so much a part of his sound. It took me years to work it out (Ritchie Blackmore did it sometimes too in the Machine Head days)
Jimi Hendrix enthusiastically tipped his hat to several other blues players too. Only one I'm certain of is Hubert Sumlin, but I do remember hearing his endorsements second-hand (never saw or heard them straight from Jimi Hendrix), Earl Hooker among them.
Fantastic lessons. Those early Buddy Guy songs are how I got into him. A Man and the Blues is a brilliant record.
