he is an incredible composer, but this is not a good cover of Sails Of Charon, no disrespect towards Yngwie though, love his stuff. Yngwie's own stuff from the 80s to mid 90s has really good compositions. Have you listened to when he plays with the japanese philharmonic orchestra? he composed everything the orchestra plays on every song that they played during the gig.
yngwie its a very, very weak metal composer. he has 3 good albums and the rest are only a reason for tourig playing the musics from the 3 first albums. if he were playing with a real band like he did with alcatrazz, he would be greater, maybe the best now that all the greats are dying. hes not better than glenn godtipton
@@chazbono5991 I really like the Scorpions, they are one of my favorite rock bands. It has less to do with Uli and more to do with the rest of the band. I very much prefer Meine's vocals and so on. But i would say that i think Uli's more tame playing is a part of it. I think he plays more fittingly to the sound of the song.
If the speed is the main thing that music fan most amazed with, just use nostril trimmer or dental tooth polisher can shred faster, melody doesn't matter.

This song has so much virtuoso in it by nature that doing this to the song isn't so much a cover as it is an attempt to upstage someone that isn't even on stage. YJM had the opportunity to be subtle with this song and find a different way to interpret this song as a cover rather then just to crank up the virtuoso style playing to a sloppy "11" then break the knob off... But since he didn't we don't get a chance to see what's infinitely possible under the right circumstances about this cover song. (I'm not a big YJM fan, I like and respect his music, talent, and prolifics but from what I've heard most of his more popular songs are virtuoso covers and classical interpretations?)
