    Mr. Bobby Ang thank you. This is very insightful. I would recommend people not send any money unless they see the car first. I have always seen this as a red flag and recommend people to see the car than make a down payment.

    Couldn't agree more Bobby. They use the old banking steal technique. In the old days, some bank workers use to steal one cent from the customer account. Most customer didn't care since it just one cent but they didnt just steal from one person. They steal from lots of people. That value sum up to thousand of ringgit per month. Just like this scammer who ask for booking money or upfront payment. Like you said, it maybe look small but when 40-50 people are doing the same, it is a free monthly salary for them.

    One more problem. There is many people ruining item's market value on mudah. They advertised item with ridiculously low price, whenever you call them, they will tell item sold. When double checked, the ads is up for just few minutes.

    Selling scams are definitely on not just centralized on Mudah, but I agree with Bobby that it is probably one of the biggest and hottest platforms where this is happening (probably due to its popularity). And being a regular window shopper there, things like this are pretty obvious especially when a particular picture of a car has multiple postings in different states concurrently or merely a few days apart.
    One type of such posting that I once often noticed is very long detailed information of the vehicle on sale in the ad, at least 20-30 rows, right down to to telling that that model is some 'legend' and the owner is migrating to which continent and reluctantly selling it, all in full-worded perfect British English. Now, that's not your typical Malaysian.

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia

      +ng yc thats exactly my complain. Mudah knew about it but decided to not do much about it at all. Carlist goes to great length to try their best to stop these fraudsters. Not 100% but at least they do something about it.

    i still think , buying used,is to actually go to that dealer showroom...atleast there is a physical store for u to refer back to , yes i know u can get a good deal from private sellers but how to trust , msia now becoming infested with scams, from G all the way down to the lowest person in society , i always buy from showroom , price might be a little higher , bt u can bargain and ask for atleast a month warranty and so on...this has been going on for ages on mudah,not only cars,specially gadgets ...last time,actually , Lelong was the best bcos sellers need to be verified IC and SSM only then u can sell , plus it has a very good feedback system where if u see someone has a shitty feedback obviously no one will buy from them,bt Lelong sell cars anymore i tink

    Mudah and lelong had the opportunity to become the best platform but they are too big to control their content. Hopefully other platforms won't become like them.

    • @butterkaya9550
      @butterkaya9550 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How big can a Malaysia digital platform goes? We don't have a big population here.
      My opinion is Mudah is just greedy on income, lazy to move and reluctant to be socially responsible. With today's technology, if they wish put effort to screen and filter their contents, it won't be that hard. Just need to spend some time & money.
      May be should think the other way round. If Mudah that big, they should have more funds compare to Carlist, why Carlist can manage scammers, but Mudah cannot?

    One of the reason why i prefer Mudah instead of Carlist because Mudah platform is so easy to use and convenient. Plus, Mudah website is not as heavy compare to Carlist loading quite slow and it lack sometimes. Carlist to many things going on and is cofusing. The most annoying part is the Leads, the buyer suppose to contact the seller not the other way around. Just my thoughts.

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Naim Azwan that is very true. I use mudah as well after carlist over complicated their website and gets so frustrating to find cars. Mudah's search function is great. But one thing i hate is you cant sort much in mudah, just cheapest and then havr to go last page for highest price. Carlist now cant even get basic models right at times. And mudah's keyword is very primitive, i search cabriolet and all the hilux single cab come out lol

    Hi Bobby, I'm new to your Channel, after following Kon for some time, I saw he does partner up with u quite a bit. Anyway, thx for the warning. I guess don't just place a deposit without having all the 'proper' guarantees?!
    The other thing is, I guess that's why people just but new cars if they can. They r just too scared they'd get cheated. Do the actual good dealers lose out. And that's why companies like Perodua are smart! They follow the likes of Merc and BMW and resell pre-owned cars. I believe the prices are higher than what's out there but the buyers have a better peace of mind.....

    Nowadays, most scammers start from Mudah and move to other platforms.. As u aware, those scammers not only pretend as seller to make money, they even pretend as buyer to make money by telling the seller they are from oversea and their oversea bank need the seller to make some deposit to the bank to release the whole sum payment for the deal.. WTF.. Those victims also from Mudah.. Then all victims start asking for help and justification on FB to clear things up.. Damn it scammers..

    Hi Bobby, I love your reviews but I don’t agree with this review. These “scammers” are also not just in Mudah but in Carlist. Well in fact these same “scammers” are on every auto platform. I don’t think you should single out just one auto platform.
    Car scammers, mileage spinners and car dress ups (car on ad pic looks like a almost new car but turns out like an old hag by using the handphone camera special effects)
    are everywhere. The Carlist guys may be able to spot out a “scammer” but not mileage spinners and car dress ups. Also there are many used car that are already sold in Carlist and the ads are still there. Many ads still not taken down. If I were you I would hold back about you saying Carlist guys are doing a good job. Does the Carlist guys knows how to spot a mileage spinner and car dressers. Are Carlist guys expert in used cars? I am in the car sales trade for more than 20 years. Most guys on car online platforms do not know their cars well enough.
    Please do not single out a single Car online platform. I recently bought a Used car for myself and I bought it through Mudah not Carlist.
    All I can say is BUYERS BEWARE. Do your homework before you buy. You pay for what you get. No such thing as cheap deals!

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think you mixed up what i said with what you feel. A car's mileage being tweaked, be it in Japan or UK before being shipped or after being shipped, or the car being modified, rims changed or specs being different or prices that are advertised were different is a BIG difference compared to scammers who post up fake ads that got approved without scrutiny and managed to scam people's money when it isn't even a listing.
      I also use Mudah. You and I not being cheated doesn't mean i shouldn't do a video to warn people because it might offend or not being politically correct about circumstances.
      Ads of dealers are controlled by themselves. But what I'm saying here, is that these scammers are infiltrating Mudah because it is easier than Carlist, and they are affecting the real car dealers too.
      So please be clear on what I am specifically saying here and don't mix it up with a dispute in a car's expectations.

      If I may add, private sellers must also beware. I was tricked into one and still paying the loan for a missing car, partly due to stupidity, but beware that there are those making a living scamming private sellers too.
      I typically avoid Kajang/Cheras dealers. They tend to advertise below market but when you walk in and discuss on the price, all the funky add on costs add up and the price may not look that competitive anymore..

    Tbh Bobby, even the prices on carlist are bogus... Except for the carlists own program, all other dealers charge extra roughly around 5 to 10+k on the base price! They call it the body price!!! Wtf! Also most of the dealers won't have the service booklet, as they clock the mileage of the car! Same in carlist and mudah. Wtf!!! As I understood, some banks doesn't even give out loans to sungai basi auto world sponsored by mudah! since they clock the mileage. Personal experience this is! I believe govt should intervene and make it mandatory to keep the original mileage as it's!

    • @dvzkam8745
      @dvzkam8745 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Neo Agree that , they changed the mileage of every used car

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Neo hi neo, i agree there are plenty of unscrupulous dealers out there. But i think the context of my video is fake and fraud scams, and not dishonest car dealers. I think car dealers as re trained by dishonest customers, say want then dowan, pay booking then ask back, nego prices say conlanfirm want then use that price to press another dealer etc. So the ecosystem became smarter and smarter but in the end new car makers reaped the biggest benefits whwn the trust factor between car buyer and seller reaches a new low.

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Again, both Mudah or Carlist have no control over how their dealers wanna tweak the mileage etc, and this dealer behaviour IS VERY DIFFERENT to what I am discussing here, so please don't mix two things up. When you're buying a used car you're buying a used car, if a car doesn't have service booklet then you walk off and search for another one which has, what are you talking here? Do you get what I'm saying? I'm saying that at least other platforms use some form of verification to vet through listings instead of letting them clear and posted up to scam people - and especially after so many cases of scams, yet it's still easy to put up a scam ad in mudah.

    Hi Bobby... May I ask if you know any reliable contacts that I can purchase any Subaru Impreza WRX 2.0 Turbo Version 7 or Version 8 or Version 9 that has been scrapped from Singapore?
    If you do or know anyone even in Malaysia wishing to sell their unit really cheap, I would like to buy a unit as spare parts for my car.
    It doesn't matter if the unit that's available for sale/scrap is STi or Non-STi unit, Manual Transmission or Automatic Transmission or even a 2.5L Turbo Unit (Version 9)... As long as it is official Singapore Import unit (by Motor Image Pte Ltd), is okay with me because my car uses similar specifications with a Singapore official import unit (I bought my car from Motor Image Sdn Bhd in Malaysia) 14 years ago 🏆
    If you're unable to assist or link me to anyone reliable as per the specifications above, not to worry. I thank you nevertheless.
    Hoping to hear from you soon irrespective of the availability of stock.
    Cheers & keep up the good work you are doing 👍
