Terrifier 3 (and all of them) are the exact opposite of woke. Just because they have a final girl, which is a staple of slashers, doesnt make it woke 😂😂😂 it was an absolute blast for horror fans who miss practical special effects and just absolutely wild moments that dont play it safe.

Women and men fights in movies are awful. If a woman shoots a man at a distance, fine, or if she outsmarts him and gets away, ok. If it's an unrealistic comedy, ok. But action fights, just no.
I make an exception for the Carano/Fassbender fight in Haywire. Gina's got powerful legs and I enjoy watching her use them. But otherwise, yeah, those scenes just take me out of a movie completely.
I don't mind it when it's like the 1st episode of Fallout. She won,but barely and by the skin of her teeth. She used everything in the room to fight him. She got lucky.

Terrifier is a great franchise. It's all a big joke, a throwback to 80's absurd gore. There is also a great underdog story behind this franchise, indie filmmaker and SFX artist started from nothing and is now selling more tickets than Joker: Foliex a Deux or whatever trash Hollywood is making.

Their punches just can’t damage a man. Maybe a black eye but to stun him, almost impossible

The terrifier movies are like the Hostel movies. They are just over the top gore for the sake of gore. No substance or anything worthwhile besides Devids performance as art. You can get good special effect in other movies. Terrifier is just mean spirited gore, and I'm not interested in watching people get butchered over and over for no real reason 🤷♂️
Not really my type of thing either but I’m acquainted with a couple of the producers on it so I may have to check it out just for the sake of seeing a low budget movie that killed all the Hollywood mega budget movies at the box office.

In both the novels & the anime, at least The Twelve Kingdoms made it believable for a 16yo Japanese girl to be able to wield a sword because, early in the series, she's "possessed" by a Youma who knows how to fight in all styles & can see through her eyes.
The second movie would probably work as a comedy if instead of beating up people, the wife used her wit or “feminine charm” to save her husband… I could maybe see Melissa McCarthy and Chris Hemsworth in the roles. It would just be so ridiculous! 😂 …but as is, not so much!

To be honest, there was "The Ninth Circle" and "All Hallows Eve" before the first "Terrifier" movie. They are not for everyone. However, if that is your thing, "Terrifier 3" is a good movie. Though the presents of a plot does slow it down a bit in the first half.

Andrew is completely wrong on Terrifier 3. It's an awesome series and the movie looks incredible. Ive seen all 3 and each one is better than the last. Also I don't see how it is in any way "woke".
I agree with your take on women beating up men in the movies. One of the things that impressed me though about Black Widow's character in the Marvel movies (and I am not a fan of the actress, but did love her in that role) is she does a lot of acrobatic and style moves. She essentially outmanuvers her opponents. The choreography is well done. It's still silly, but well-done silly. Plus, the character is a hoot. Does not take away from your central point though. In one scene, she battles several other ladies with the help of her sister. Later, when they are at a convenience store her sister comments that 'the god from outer space' probably does not take any pain medication after a fight, as Black Widow takes a pain pill.
I find it weird when guys get so upset about how unrealistic it is when women fight men in films but will accept men doing the most unrealistic ridiculous stuff in action films and don't bat an eyelid.
I think for me its because men doing crazy stuff is unrealsitic but when a girl does it. Its feels even more unrealsitic where it takes me out of the movie. If its animated or if their are super powers involved i feel like that less so.
I stopped watching 007 after he ran his motorcycle over a cliff jumped into a falling plane and took it out of a dive before it hit the bottom. Even for 007 - which is a sort of fantasy - that's too much.
Nah, that typically bothers me, too, unless it's meant to be campy, like Commando or Big Trouble in Little China. A regular human man fistfighting a metal robot without breaking this hand is going to bother me as much as a regular woman beating the crap out of a male security guard. A woman can still realistically defeat a man, but not with brute strength. Trickery, weapons, just enough martial arts to break away and use a weapon, or supernatural/biological/technological enhancements are possible methods. But those require good writing to execute, and that's too complicated for 21st century Hollywood writers.
That Santa film looked like it was right out of the 1980's. Completely cliche. They should make a movie called "Screenwriters of the Living Dead" about filmmakers who won't let completely worn out and tired genres of cinema die.

To be honest, there was "The Ninth Circle" and "All Hallows Eve" before the first "Terrifier" movie.
They are not for everyone. However, if that is your thing, "Terrifier 3" is a good movie. Though the presents of a plot does slow it down a bit in the first half.

Andrew is completely wrong on Terrifier 3. It's an awesome series and the movie looks incredible. Ive seen all 3 and each one is better than the last. Also I don't see how it is in any way "woke".
Probably cause the main character is a woman but there’s a difference with Sienna she’s well written
I like the second one better, personally, but 3 is still awesome. Maybe a second viewing when it comes to streaming will change my mind.

I agree with your take on women beating up men in the movies. One of the things that impressed me though about Black Widow's character in the Marvel movies (and I am not a fan of the actress, but did love her in that role) is she does a lot of acrobatic and style moves. She essentially outmanuvers her opponents. The choreography is well done. It's still silly, but well-done silly. Plus, the character is a hoot. Does not take away from your central point though. In one scene, she battles several other ladies with the help of her sister. Later, when they are at a convenience store her sister comments that 'the god from outer space' probably does not take any pain medication after a fight, as Black Widow takes a pain pill.

I find it weird when guys get so upset about how unrealistic it is when women fight men in films but will accept men doing the most unrealistic ridiculous stuff in action films and don't bat an eyelid.
It’s just less unrealistic.
I think for me its because men doing crazy stuff is unrealsitic but when a girl does it. Its feels even more unrealsitic where it takes me out of the movie. If its animated or if their are super powers involved i feel like that less so.
I actually didn’t mind black widow. But that’s more of a super hero movie. I also liked Prey and The Descent who had female leads
I stopped watching 007 after he ran his motorcycle over a cliff jumped into a falling plane and took it out of a dive before it hit the bottom. Even for 007 - which is a sort of fantasy - that's too much.
Nah, that typically bothers me, too, unless it's meant to be campy, like Commando or Big Trouble in Little China. A regular human man fistfighting a metal robot without breaking this hand is going to bother me as much as a regular woman beating the crap out of a male security guard.
A woman can still realistically defeat a man, but not with brute strength. Trickery, weapons, just enough martial arts to break away and use a weapon, or supernatural/biological/technological enhancements are possible methods. But those require good writing to execute, and that's too complicated for 21st century Hollywood writers.

That Santa film looked like it was right out of the 1980's. Completely cliche. They should make a movie called "Screenwriters of the Living Dead" about filmmakers who won't let completely worn out and tired genres of cinema die.
It was a call-back to that genre.
Ever heard of a homage? Also this is the third Terrifier movie. The first two are extremely low budget and extremely good if you're into Gore movies. Many people aren't and that's fine. That doesn't make it woke and that doesn't make it garbage. Not everything has to be made for you. You're not the center of the universe.
Terrifier 3 was great. The whole series is great. Definitely not a woke series.
