  • I'm really very excited to go through this and video it. Not once have I committed to training short power like I will over the coming weeks so It's a little unknown how much things will change. That's what's so exciting about it!

    Thank you for watching this video. I hope that you keep up with the regular videos I post on the channel, subscribe, and share your learnings with those that need to hear it. Your comments are important to me, so please take a second and say ‘Hey’ ;).
    Ed is an elite cyclist, 2019 British Hill Climb Champion and former Under 23 British RR Champion. He has raced as a Continental level Professional Rider in Japan, Korea, Australia, Canada, Azerbaijan to name a few. He is also a public speaker, coach, and remains grounded with regular returns to his roots at Bynea Cycling Club. At the start of 2021, the Discord community began, and plonked many of Ed's viewers in to a 350+ strong group of people that had many things in common. Not least wanting to explore the world and pedal their bikes faster!
    Ed coaches lots of cyclists in the online community too! If you are interested, email laverackcoaching@yahoo.com for information on the 1-2-1 coaching package and training plans, of which there are many!
    Ed now prioritises having fun with my hard earned fitness and knowledge in the sport. Showcasing that maybe there is an alternative to racing for teams when you can race for yourself and your community of followers and brands. This TH-cam channel is a docu-series highlighting what it’s like to be a cyclist in today’s competitive age of sport.

    I've been sacrificing my FTP for years now. Getting quite good at it 😄 as you'll see this Sunday at Porlock

    Hey Ed, i am moving to south wales soon and our plan for getting shopping is to buy an eletric cargo bike. Help get outside and get some extra miles in, maybe it could work for you as well.

    Loved watching the livestream workout (granted I didn't get to see it live....but later). It helps me in my workouts to see how you handle it. How your HR reacts. How your power maintains or drops from block to block. Great stuff. Thank you.

    Here I was thinking of trying my hand at that session next time I'm riding on the turbo, since it looked perfectly doable in percentages... But now you're all just increasing the percentages anyway :P
    1:39 Cheers, Ed. Just something that caught my eye. Haha. Of all the things to take up vlog time... xD

      Yeah, just trying to work on 2 weaknesses really, I know I struggle to produce sustained power out the saddle see.

    Tesco's don't get to decide which mags they have on the shelves, it's WHSmith's choice :)

    I presumed yesterday’s session was part of a 3 day block. Tough ssession-did it as my second interval session of the day.

    Ed', you use ERG buddy, just for 30secs sometimes hard to dial in the power when fatigued?

    • @edlaverack
      @edlaverack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't worry about it too much

    Ed, do you see any difference in the training value derived from doing intervals on the turbo trainer versus on the road? (Aside from the lack of interruptions on the trainer)

    • @edlaverack
      @edlaverack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doing intervals indoors there is far better control to a certain extent. I don’t see many benefits unless you are Zwift racing. It’s serves people well for outdoor events though it must be said however I get a fair few messages from worried cyclists saying they can’t do outside what they can do inside mainly due to lack of practice

      @@edlaverack That is largely my experience; it is easier to hold consistent numbers on the trainer. Although, I'd find it easier to hit higher power numbers on climbs than on the trainer.
