- This week: City walk with Mochi, Oslo main library, ice cream envy and baking for the neighbor's kids.
Recipe -CINNAMON ROLL THINGYS (Don't know what these are called in English)
200g Milk (Full fat is best)
2 Medium Eggs
600g Flour
25g Fresh Yeast
50g Caster Sugar
10g Salt
200g Unsalted Butter
Filling:
150g Unsalted Butter
250g Brown Sugar
2 Tsp Cinnamon
Topping: Vanilla custard
1. Mix milk, eggs, flour, yeast, sugar salt and butter. Prove for about 45 minutes.
2. Make the filling by mixing butter, brown sugar and cinnamon
3. Roll the dough into a square (cut away some of the sides, save till later)
4. Spread the filling onto the dough
5. Divide into three equal parts, roll into three "sausages".
6. Divide the "sausages" into bits of 10-12 ish parts
7. Make into a sircular shape by pinching the dough where the ends meet
8. Make cuts with scissors (More cuts than I made in the video will look better!)
9. Roll small balls from the left over dough that you cut off from the sides, put in the middle
10. Cover and prove for 30 minutes
11. Put vanilla custard in the middle
12. Egg wash for a glossy shine
13. Bake at 200°C
As a kid I looked forward to Saturday mornings to watch cartoons. As an adult I look forward to Saturday mornings to watch you and Mochi which is a million times better! Plus I don’t have to wait for reruns, I can rewatch whenever and as often as I want. Relaxing and highly entertaining at the same time!🐶❤️

Yes same.here. I really miss those days weekends watch morning early afternoon cartoons. For past years 2012 to now everything is streaming TV and movies apps. A lot of things has changed.

I am absolutely in love with your library! It is stunning. So many libraries here in the US, including the one at the college where I work, are closing. My work one got rid of all the physical books (I got two full bags!) in favor of digital. It pains me as so many of my childhood memories involve books and trips to the library. Even now I will always choose a physical book. It’s just so comforting to curl up with it and a nice cup of tea. So glad to see you making good use of it!
So sad to hear your library got rid of all physical books! That's such a pity. I appreciate digital books, but physical books can't be replaced. The weight of it in your hand, the smell of the paper, the sound the paper makes when you turn the pages...
Many of my good childhood memories also involved trips to the library, so I know what you mean.

Mochi always enjoys our city adventures. When I say the world "bus", she automatically starts walking faster towards the bus stop (sometimes even running), and sits down and waits patiently for the bus! I never trained her to do this. I think she even likes the city better than our walks in the forest 😂
The library is amazing, and it's been a big success ever since it was built. Always full of people. It's a very joyful place.

When I was at school, I used to go there almost every day to read or just wander among the bookshelves. The library is great, It's a big hit with the people of the city, it's always filled with people, you can spend hours there, I love it.

Another proof that conquering people through their stomachs is infallible. It works with pets too.
I love the design of the new planter. I like the old libraries, which make you feel like you've stepped back in time, but also the modern ones with lots of light and wide spaces. In a library like the one in Oslo I think I would spend half my life reading. Even entering virtually, I began to feel that sensation of leaving the outside world and entering an inner universe thanks to the atmosphere of stillness and the "inner journey" that books allow me.📚
Agree 100%, it's always a good (and easy) strategy to conquer people through their stomachs!
Even though I love Oslo's new library, the old one had more charm to be honest. I miss it sometimes. There is something about old buildings that can't be replicated by new ones. The sense of history and feeling of everyone that has been there before...

Parts of Oslo remind me of parts of Seattle in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S.A. Not surprising given the Scandinavian influence there.
I have never been there, but that's very interesting! From what I've heard it rains a lot there, and they have good coffee. Don't know if that's true??
@@introvert-and-dog There is rain - but that has been exaggerated. Miami has more rainfall amounts, for instance - though Seattle has a lot of rain days.
Lovely 🩵 When I moved to Oslo I expended my days in the old library. That cinnamon rolls look amazing.
As much as I love the new, modern library, part of me miss the old, elegant one with the lovely green colour and grand columns on the facade ❤️

Wow that looks delicious! I can cook mostly but I have never tried baking. Boo here is content watching you and Princess Mochi. She begs for food a lot and it’s hard to refuse her begging eyes😊. In fact, Boo had some spaghetti I made for dinner tonight. She gobbled it in like a few seconds! So she knows how Mochi feels when she watches you eat. In my part of the USA, your baked goods would be referred to as 'sweet rolls' or 'pastries'. Now in Canada, they might call it a 'sticky bun'. Either way, they look delicious!

Moi qui adore les livres et les bibliothèques je suis un peu déçu par la grande bibliothèque de la ville. Elle semble très impersonnelle et ne semble pas très chaleureuse.
Avec une vidéo c'est toujours difficile de se faire une idée précise. Peut être qu'en vrai j'aurais aimé.

Actually, I think you are correct about the big new library. In many ways it is fantastic, but it doesn't have the soul and cozy feeling of the old main library of Oslo (which is not in use anymore). It is difficult to replicate or create a sense of history. I enjoy sitting in the new library, but it doesn't give me the same peaceful feeling as the old one.
Simone de Beauvoir is amazing. Love the peace your videos bring. I think, in English, we would call those a "Danish." Absolutely beautiful and I gained a KG just watching.
