    If I can ask a very dumb question, on a joint annuity, once you’re in the “income for life” phase, in other words past 10 years and now getting paid out of the Protected Value, if both annuitants die, does any benefit go to the beneficiaries? To put it another way, I start with 125K investment, and after 10 years let's say my Accumulated Value is 160K and my Protected Value is 200K, and then we start “income for life,” and then 3 months later my wife and I both die in a car accident. Does the insurance company pay anything out to my kids?

    • @StressLessFinancial
      @StressLessFinancial 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! Navigating the nuances of annuities can be complex. Generally, for a joint annuity, if both annuitants pass away, the terms of the contract will determine if any remaining benefits go to the beneficiaries. It's crucial to understand the specifics of your annuity policy. Have you reviewed your contract details or discussed this scenario with your annuity provider? Let's connect and ensure you have all the necessary information to protect your family's future.

    The 10% bonus pitch during a presentation that I attended had me thinking, this is too good to be true, and I expressed that to the advisor. I did not purchase at that time, but I am really thinking about it as I am not doing very well with growth in my TSP since retirement.😢 That 10% bonus can get me a little closer to the money I lost in my TSP. I still have some thinking to do.

May someone who is educated in this please explain? The S&P went up 1411.02 points in that year. Thank you. And what is a rider charge?

    Is death benefit on the fixed annuity same as the income rider?

    • @StanTheAnnuityMan
      @StanTheAnnuityMan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zenaida, sometimes. Some income riders will pay the income rider value to the beneficiaries over a period of time, usually 5 years. Most income riders do not do this. The annuity/accumulation value will be paid on death.

    Hi Stan...I just had a pitch from an Agent. FIA from AIG 7.5% (Power Select Plus) Payout for 12 years Then account value goes to 0 at 12 years but the payout stays fixed for life at the 12 year point. Starting Payout amount in 200k 14000/year. I'm 70 wife is 65. Seems to good to be true. Point to Point 1year option of course with adjustable Cap of 5.25 and adjustable participation rates. How much can Caps and participation rates vary? Thanks

    Went to a free dinner at Maggianos last night and this was the first time I ever heard of a fixed index annuity. One of the options was giving you 35% up front plus you get 50% of whatever the gain is. So if your FIA has a return of 6% one year, they’ll tack on an additional 3% which brings you up to 9%. Yes… it sounds too good to be true. I guess my logic is telling me that that company is making their money if the market yields more than what they’re obligated to give you?? This is all very new to me. I appreciate your video and insight. Thank you in advance!

    • @StanTheAnnuityMan
      @StanTheAnnuityMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The insurance company is making their money because you have to keep the annuity for life to get the bonus/addl interest. The only place you get the 35% + 50% above the gain is in the income account (called PIV in the product materials). There is a 10-year waiting period and then you must use the income account to turn on income for life. If you want to take your money out of the annuity any other way than lifetime income you do not get the bonus or the additional interest. The amount of misinformation floating around about this product is driving me nuts! I'm glad you found my channel.

      @@StanTheAnnuityMan I’m glad I found your channel also. I did meet with him again today because I was curious about the different products he was selling. He did in fact discuss creating a “pension” on the very term you just mentioned. So it sounds to me like once the term ends, If you liquidate the annuity, you miss out on the “bonus.” I subscribed to your channel and look forward to more education you provide. Thank you, sir!

    Just ask any insurance guy to see the contract? They only want your money. Days or weeks later you will see the contract you signed unseen. Now, you have 3 days or less to return the contract and get your money back when you don't want it. Don't be surprised if it takes months to get your cleared check cash back to you.
    If you don't return this contract notifying the insurance company you want out. You are stuck in that contract.
    This is why the insurance sales guys will not let you see the contract that you signing without reading the contract.

    its always important to realize the difference between buyin a INSURANCE PRODUCTS AND INVESTMENT PRODUCTS. investment products are more upfront about displaying any commisions fees or meaning of terms. in the insurance industry you hear a term like "cash value" but the way its expained for instance in a whole life policy is extremely misleading. ANNUTIIES ARE PROBABLY MORE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE WILLING TO SACRIFICE POSITIVE RETURNS FOR GUARANTEES. in my humble opinion

    LOL. you were all over the place in this video, sounds like the bottom line for an FIA, is that it all depends on your needs. There are no major up- or down-sides. Not even if it's "too good to be true, it is..." What you are saying is that it's simply, "what do you want to use it for" That's really the question.

  • @zackstrigin

    "or whatever they're pitching you" What a horrible way to start... the negative connotation you put on that is why some people never even get the product. You're trying to be the hero when in reality everyone else out here that I know is doing amazing honest work. "get my book" - "Schedule a time with me" - "are we clear yet? of course, we are" - "Sales pitch" - "candy for the stupid" " Make me and my wife happy" You're saying what the snakes say... You crap on other people and promise you're the answer. I love this industry but I don't like what you're saying, and the average person is fooled by snakes with a bunch of fluff words like this.
