I've recently come across this channel while looking for help on how to play trickerion. I love this. I love playing board games, and I usually play with my cousin. The issue is, it is usually just the 2 of us. We have played some fun 2 player games like beyond the sun, the captain is dead, deep blue, terraforming mars, pandemic: reign of cthulu, and trickerion. I was wondering if you could do a video of 2 player games, perhaps focused on cooperative games? We really like the coop games where it's us versus the game, but haven't found very many of them. I would love to see what options are out there. Keep up the great videos!

Maybe you want to check out Sky Team: a cooperative 2 player game about landing planes.
Flash Point: Fire Rescue is a great cooperative game. It is more fun at higher player counts, but still works fine at 2. There is a standard side and hard side to the board. There are also advanced rules that add more complexity to the game mechanics.
I just played this game with three other friends and it was sooo good! I knew about the fox experiment from the book I read before (Survival of the friendliest) and the game is so within the theme XD I usually don't tend to like games that have a lot to do own your own but this was just fun. Thanks for your tutorial, I could really skim through the rulebook and play smoothly without errors. Thank you!
I (Monique) looove abstract games but Naveen isn't too keen on them so we don't cover them as much, but I'd love to do more. What are your favorites? Thank you btw!
@@BeforeYouPlay no wonder you love them, you were so good at games like Mythic Mischief and Boop. I playing them all! my favorites are Yinsh, Tak, Onitama, and Hive.
Thanks for the playthrough. We'd played this at four and five, so it was great to see how the AI worked at two players and I see we misplayed one point during our plays. We really liked the theme, enjoyed the simultaneous play that keeps everyone involved, and just had extra fun with all the dice. We also added dice trays to manage all the dice. Always appreciate your content!
Oh my goodness that is hilarious! In between rounds, I (Monique) accidentally hit my player board and knocked all the pieces all over the place lol. That's probably what caused the mix-up
GG! The last time I saw a playthrough, the people played it incorrectly so I didn't have a clear idea of how the game worked. Thanks for showcasing the game. I think my favorite pairing was Petsi + Koala. 😂
This looks like a decent game, well thought out. Not really my speed though, I'd play it if the opportunity arose, but it's not something I'd add to my collection.
Played this for the first time yesterday! It's fun but has a lot of components so I ended up taking out the game tray and replacing it with a tackle box to make the set-up time less of a hassle
Hey guys. Just to clarify. At 18:10 you placed a gear on the 4th space. Although above that space, it reads 1/3. Does that mean that space is only useable if you’re playing 1 or 3 players? Or is it meant to be read 1 to 3 players? I’m confused on when you would/wouldn’t use those spaces. Thanks for your time and the video :)
Hi! Great question! You fill tokens on the supply spaces until you reach the space that has your player count on it. Since we were playing a 2-P game, we placed all the way to the 2/4 labeled space. In solo and 3-P games, you wouldn't fill the rightmost space. Hope that helps!
30:59 All three male foxes have one pink dice. Both Aramis and Julsbar have one beige dice. The tie breaker should be the arrow card. So the AI should claim Julsbar instead?
Thanks, I think I finally got the AI cards right now. Simpler than I thought, typically enough! I'm still worried about using the dry erase markers on the cards though...
haha I felt the same way about the markers on the cards at first! I think I had to take a deep breath before writing lol, but fortunately it works great. Thanks so much!
Great playthrough! Question on the AI though. At 31:02, since the arrow is pointing to the left, why would the AI not take the first fox that matches it's requirements? aka Julsbar.
At 44:20 were you supposed to draft the pup instead? It was tied for pink but then tied for beige because of the dice and card. Then I would assume it would take the pup because it had an extra purple die. I could have it wrong though. Thanks for your videos!
Great video, as always. The game itself... not sure. Feels like an elaborate Bonanza dice game, but quite fiddly. At 1:14:01 Couldnt Naveen have used 1 of the 2 double wild dice in the purple row to also get 4? Don't see the need to make the symbol on the bottom row and feed back to top purple, or did I miss some rule?
I was pretty skeptical after Mariposas, and honestly, I feel the last few wingspan expansions have been more of "look, more birds" rather than adding much to the game. After watching this though, I think I'm going to pick this one up. It's nowhere near the brilliance of wingspan, but it looks much more friendly to bringing people into a light competition game, more comfortable, and still cute to see the foxes. Probably not a $50 game for me, but if I can get it at like ~35, I would jump :)
Thank you. Interesting this was a real event! Right on the border of scary (had it succeeded, I imagined further domestications would've been pursued with heightened resources and interest not to mention all the other experiments we don't know about)!
From what I've read I think it did succeed, and there were other reported attempts of domesticating other animals, like otters, but I don't think any have succeeded.
How long til someone complains about the theme in these comments? My only complaint: looked great but didnt back because my group probably wouldnt play it much :(
Good decision with not backing. It's been a big mess. Now there's a huge misstep with neoprene mats which people paid for extra. They initially said no refunds or replacement options, but sent out a new update backtracking, but still no clear resolution. I backed mainly because of Elizabeth Hargrave. And I'll be lucky if I receive my copy plus misprinted neoprene mats by February when I could have bought the retail copy at Essen last November.
I think wingspan scanned the same way tbf I don't think this game will put Elizabeth Hargreaves name back in the headlines, and it's no TI4, but it looks cozy and I think that's what she is aiming for.
Fun to watch. Thanks.
Thanks for hanging out with us!
I always love your playthroughs! Can't wait to get my hands on this game!
YESSS i've been waiting this one!!! you know how easy you make my first playthrough sesh?🙌 💯💯💯
Just played this Friday. For the first time I've played a game before the video lol. We made a few mistakes but overall was enjoyable.
Great to hear you enjoyed it!
Great video! Naveen, could you share where your awesome shirt is from? Thanks!

Near the beginning of the video I thought "this probably isn't the game for my group", now I think I'll to buy it. Great video! 😆
Picked up my copy at Strategicon... read the rules annnnnnnnnnd was lost. THANK YOU for posting this! Now I get it! EDIT: Just played it and loved it.
Thank you! This was so helpful!
thanks for the explanation
Somehow I knew we would see a Dexter during the game. The friendliest boy!
Great video as always! i really hope you make videos on abstract strategy games. they are really engaging, but few channels pay attention to them

Hey guys! Love your content 💚
Thank you so much 🤗
My Canadian retail copy is finally on its way. Looking forward to giving it a spin with my family.
On the 5th round Monique messed up tokens and claimed 4th dice twice, before and after the selection fase @1:12:10 @1:19:10

You're right! Great catch, it should have been Julsbar. At least we were both on board with it lol
36:00 missed opportunity. Could have put the blue into the chain to get another trait token and 2 friendliness
Hah great catch

Don't see the need to make the symbol on the bottom row and feed back to top purple, or did I miss some rule?
Is it a 2-player thing that so many dice are added additionally to foxes?
Hi there, it’s been a while since we played this (only at 2-P too), I’m not sure how the dice end up allocated at higher player counts.
YES! Let's go, Naveen! Sorry I'm projecting. My partner beats me too much when we play.
Do you have to play with the AI at two players? Or did you just choose to play it this way?
You have to, it simulates more fox breeding. Otherwise, you wouldn't have enough fox options to draft
Anyone else not seeing a Klingon option for the subtiles? I just see the auto-English one...
@11:34 why would I “be using 2 trait tokens”? You lost me on this.
