From a neutral perspective as I dont support either party, it appears that the presidents son was involved in business dealings all over the world whilst his father was VP, and some of his dealings are now under investigation. That is clearly newsworthy and its in the public interest to know exactly what was going in and whether everything was above board as there is potentially a direct link from all of this to the current president of the US. Any media outlet in the US and any politician that is not actively interested in wanting to get to the bottom of exactly what went on is at best failing in their roles, and at worst actively complicit in trying to suppress the story for their personal political reasons. I would go so far as to say that journalists and politicians uninterested in this whole thing are by definition not performing their duties nor are they acting in the best interests of the people, and unfortunately many do not seem interested and it appears to be based purely on political bias and not wanting "their team" to look bad. From a neutral perspective as I dont support either party, it appears that the presidents son was involved in business dealings all over the world whilst his father was VP, and some of his dealings are now under investigation. That is clearly newsworthy and its in the public interest to know exactly what was going in and whether everything was above board as there is potentially a direct link from all of this to the current president of the US. Any media outlet in the US and any politician that is not actively interested in wanting to get to the bottom of exactly what went on is at best failing in their roles, and at worst actively complicit in trying to suppress the story for their personal political reasons. I would go so far as to say that journalists and politicians uninterested in this whole thing are by definition not performing their duties nor are they acting in the best interests of the people, and unfortunately many do not seem interested and it appears to be based purely on political bias and not wanting "their team" to look bad. Then some politicians and media sources wonder why people have a lack of trust in them.......
i do find it funny how the right are obsessed by the fact Hunter made some money by association to his dad (still not sure what law that breaks), but when Ivanka Trump does the same thing, or when Trump personally made a tonne of money from hiring out personal golf carts while in office... the right are silent, even though that one actually does violate the emoluments clause.
