Win96 has a certain power in vaporwave that I haven't heard in a long time. The artist has an intimate understanding of what the genre is all about, down to the name. This is the nostalgia I never felt for an OS that never was.
Win96 is really the only one doing something different with the genre. Everyone else is mass copying each other. Same MIDI controllers, same BPM, same hooks and same keys.
I like how severely outnumbered the dislikes are. It just goes to show that there are people who look for this particular type of music and have found their place.
'lost in the supermarket' gets me in a vibe of hopelessness through excess. A state of mind in which utmost success is meaningless. i like to think of it by it's title: lost in the supermarket, seeing what can be obtained and yet having a feeling that can be surprassed by none of it. sorry i'm tripping.

This album is the sound of the universal language and love that everyone can understand. This piece of art tells us how insignificant we are in the grand scheme of things, yet how beautiful our life can be if we live in the present.
I have been listening to wind96 everyday for 4 years, but I have known him before it, anyway, I think this album is very interesting, I would consider this the most "pure vaporwave" album of wind96 and maybe from the genre, from start to finish you can feel the wave of vapor almost melting your brain. in my opinion this is not the best album of him but is a fucking masterpiece, the aesthetic of the aesthetic
the great part is that nothing here is sampled i think (his music contains little to no samples), and that makes it even more impressive, being able to achieve something as sample based as Vaporwave out of scratch incredible
