In this video I show you how I remove and replace the engine mounts in my 1997 S500 W140 sedan. Common problems in a car with failed engine mounts include: increased vibration at idle, clunks under hard acceleration, inability to remove oil filter housing cap. Mount part number 1402402217

Have you changed the mounts yet? Just wondering if you have any vibrations after replacing them?
Excellent video. All the best
I might have to go through this process to save my car lol
Awesome video! Keep it up! Sweet W140😍
What was the best way that you found to remove the old mount and put in the new one on the drivers side?
I haven’t done that one yet tbh! I’ve read you can remove the entire mount arm to make it easier. No room in there!
Great Video👍 just a quick question what is the quality of the vaico mounts?
They seem ok for the price. The genuine Mercedes mounts are 10x the price and good brands like Lemforder are no longer made.
@@BIMMERZEITT I bought Febi Bilstein, victor from restore your Mercedes uses them and they are about $100 a piece. I bought Rein before and they failed in about 20,000 miles
@@zach359 maybe I’ll put a Febi in the driver side then! Since it’s such a pain to change. Then again, it would take many years for me to put 20k miles on this car.
Thanks for the reply. It’s not that many brands left to pick from, unfortunately
@@mikul29 Nowadays it doesn't matter. Vaico, Febi, Meyle etc. all seem come from the same factory. Genuine are made from BOGE. Until 2019 or so, Febi also sold the Boge ones (Made in germany on the package) and they grinded out the A124... part number. But as Boge doesn't manufacture them anymore, Febi uses the cheap ones and lemforder / corteco are sold out. The only remaining stock is left at mercedes benz for 250€ each :( I think I'll use also the cheap febi (28€ each here in germany).
