- Today's video was a special request from a couple viewers, and I finally decided to tackle InDesign Object Styles.

Not everyone here will have a need for this video, but I tried to make it as entertaining as possble. It does go a bit longer than normal, but I wanted to make sure to cover object styles as thoroughly as I could.

Hi, I appreciate your energetic style and I dare to ask you for a tutorial on how to add text in a book with lots of pictures without spoiling the whole format after that page. I tried to unlink pages and it works. But If the pages are linked and I change the position of one picture, sometimes the text far below could move and ruin my page format. How to make small changes without split pages?
Thank you in advance!
Hi Laura, I think I already understand what you're asking and I have a really simple fix for you which I can share in a short tutorial video, maybe over the weekend. I'm dropping a different video soon about a different topic, but I can answer your question too.
... the only factor is that I won't be using Adobe InDesign this time, but rather Affinity Publisher, BUT the process is still the same, so it should help you.
I hit the like but I need to appreciate this separately. One amazing vide you got there. I wish I had a faculty like you in my design school back in the days.
Rohan Sharma thank you. That means a lot to me.
You may not have an need for this video, and it might be too long, but hey, at least you get to see me be a typical design dork in the process.
Probably should now figure out how to work these into Affinity Designer... who wants that?
You remind me of my 10th grade algebra teacher. Yes, Bernie made algebra super fun. Nice job.
Thanks. Definitely wouldn’t want me teaching algebra though. 😂
you recorded this 3 years ago. I like your way of speaking and expression. thank you. I hope you are still alive there find and well.
I'm back! Thanks for watching.
Super helpful, thank you! :)
Glad you think so.
That is FUN....never knew Indesign could do that LOL Thank you so so so much
Happy to help!
I'm not sure if it's about x2.5 speed I watching or just you. But I love the energy, Dave! Thanks for the info
Thank you so much. I can be a bit extra. 😉
VERY GOOD!
Thank you
How do you create object styles using multiple pages?
I don't know if I fully understand the question, but when you create an object style, it will work on any elements you apply it to on all pages of your document. Or are you talking about master pages where things need to apply to certain pages in your document?
@@DaveConrey Thanks for replying so quickly! Yes, I am talking about Master Pages. I don't know how to get my object style from one Master Page to another if that makes sense...?
Thanks
Arron Murray my pleasure
Great stuff brother
Thanks, David.
affinity publisher will trump indesign shortly
It may be awhile before that happens, but it could happen.
